Ability To Hide Photos

Does anyone happen to know if there is a functionality available that provides the ability to be able to "hide" a given selection of photos within Lightroom Classic CC? I get that they could be removed from the library but files can still remain on the hard drive, but I'm wondering if there's some way to actually hide them but still keep them accessible in the Lightroom Classic CC application.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Looty81,.

Lightroom Classic does not have such feature to hide images within the catalog.

Could you please take a look at this discussion Lightroom: Ability to hide sensitive photos | Photoshop Family Customer Community  and let us know if that helps?

Thanks,

Akash

Thanks Akash. I checked out the link. It seems like a request that's in popular demand, and for good reason.

Unfortunately, despite the 6+ year demand, no such feature has appeared in Lightroom yet. All we have are workarounds.

Hiding the files would be an interesting solution.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Restricting access to the folder that contains the images is easily done in the file browser that came with your OS.

This is in fact a real problem, and a big surprise that Adobe hasn't solved it long ago. Only soltion so far is to store the edited files elsewhere, and delete them in LR. Strange and cumbersome.........
