Moin zusammen!

Follow the instructions exactly. Do not skip steps (unless they clearly don't apply, like moving from Windows to Mac). Do not add in your own steps. Do not Import photos.

From the translation to English:

unfortunately the site didn't help me.

Do I have to create a new catalog for the image files transferred ? And how?

You don't say if the fact that the article is in English is the problem, and that's why you don't understand the instructions. But if you can understand the English, then there is clearly no such step where you create a new catalog, and so that is not a step in the process. As I said earlier, do not make up your own steps ... follow the instructions exactly, do not add additional steps that are not in the instructions, do not Import photos, do not Import your existing catalog.

You do not need to create a new catalog, and most importantly, do not import the images.

  1. Locate the folder that contains the Lightroom catalog on the old computer, then copy this folder to the new computer.
  2. Copy all the images from the old computer to the new computer. If possible, copy them to the exact same location as on the old computer. So if  the folders with images were under C:\Users\[your user name]\Pictures, then copy them to that location on the new computer.
  3. Use File > Open in Lightroom, and navigate to the catalog that you copied from the old computer.
Alternatively, double-click the catalog file to launch Lightroom with the catalog.
  4. If you were not able to use the exact same location as on the old computer, the folders will have question marks on them, and you have to re-link the folders with the catalog.

Hallo Per !

Lightroom - Rechnerwechsel / Teil 1 - YouTube

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 10 Pro 22H2 -- LR-Classic 13.2 - Photoshop 25.6 - Nik Collection 6.9 - PureRAW 4 - Topaz Photo AI 2
