Crash when building previews

Lightroom has been a  very stable platform for  me until very recently. Repeatedly the app crashes when I build 1:1 previews. I use a macbook pro.  My husband can open the same catalog on a different macbook (older) and has no such issues. Thank you for any help you might  have to offer.

When Lightroom Classic crashes, first thing to try is resetting the preferences, that often fixes the issue:
