LRC crashes every single time I try to import into catalog

I am about to throw my computer, but I don't think that would help. MacOS running Big Sur, latest version of LRC. 

I go to import tab, select images (I've tried from my reliable card reader and after they're already on hard drive, BOTH), click import. Screen changes to main screen like a regular import, wheel spins and then the whole thing crashes.

Please help. Clearly my sanity is at stake.

First thing to try is resetting preferences, that often fixes crashing.

Unfortunately that didn't seem to do the trick. I was able to reset
preferences via Method 1. Now anytime I do anything on LRC, it crashes. I
appreciate any help you can provide.
