Make changes in development module that don't show up library module?

I am accessing a catalog built on a mac with a PC. I have a symbol in the top  left corner of my picture in develop modul that has opposing arrows. In the picture within the library module also has a buble circle "embedded preview" generally in the right bottom corner of the pictures.
