no checkbox on collections Classic LR

Please help.

I am trying to set up Portfolio. I understand that I need to get a collection into lightroom. I have 12000 pictures on lightroom classic, which tries to sync with LR. I only want to Sync 1 collection but there is no checkbox to the left for syncing. It is a normal collection and not a smart collection. Thank you

Smart collections cannot be synchronized. Only regular (or non-smart) collections can be synchronized.

Hover top left over the name plate (see image below) and click the triangle icon. You may need to activate sync from the Activity centre if it is paused.

Thanks for the reply but this is a screen shot of what I have got. I havnt got that arrow you show but there is one  next to the collections box. As far as I have studied they have told me that there should be a checkbox, but its not showing. On the LR plate it says to start syncing (its not paused as far as I can tell) but it wants to sync a whole catalogue (1000s of pics)

just looked at the status of sync, and there is nothing syncing or pending

I recently found that this option disappeared for me on creating a collection. I could scroll down to the collections list and there is a small grey button next to the collection. Hovering over it says "Click to sync this collection with Lightroom". That appears to work.
