tethering d850 doesn`t work

lr classic 8.4.1 finds camera nikon d850 to import files from card but is not able to connect via tethering.

i also tried with and without empty card.

(on macbook with os sierra 10.12.6)

any hints?

Have you worked through all the suggestions at- ?
