P: iPhone Ultra Wide macro capture issues with LR Mobile in-app camera

I'm having issues with shooting raw with the iPhone 13 Pro in Lightroom Mobile. Whenever I try to take a macro wide shot using the wide lens it doesn't save at all when I'm in DNG mode but as soon as focus further back it does work. Seems like some weird bugs going on with the ultra wide angle raw on Lightroom Mobile.

Hello again @Mathieu5FD9

You messaged me privately, but I'm replying to you on this public thread to keep others informed.

The bug is still open, not resolved.  I do not have an estimate from the developers on a fix date.

Until it's resolved, it may be best to rely on Apple's camera app (I understand manual focus there does not work the same).

We'll update this thread when a fix is implemented.

Thank you!

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but I got my iPhone 16 pro today and updated Lightroom and now when I try to do slightly close up photos of a subject it will not focus on the subject at all and remains blurry. This was 100% not an issue before as I’d take shots at this closer range without problem. Anybody have this issue? Any solution or help?
Thanks!
This is version 9.5.1

here's an example, ignore the awful lighting but the subject now is super blurry at this distance and I have never had an issue about it being blurry before until trying it out with my new phone today

Hello @skarmory87

Thank you for contacting us.  I merged your post into an existing thread where the team is tracking this issue.  It is not specific to the iPhone 16.  I will check with the developers on this.

In the mean time, please use the native camera for Macro image capture and import into Lightroom.

Alright, this thread is from 2022, however, so this could be a different issue.

I was looking at supported phones and the iPhone 16 is not listed as compatible yet only 15 so perhaps that's it?

@Charlie.D  any update? I looked at supported iPhones and Lightroom only has up until iPhone 15. This thread is from 2022 so I'm not sure if this relates to the same issue. This issue happened as soon as I switched to my new iPhone 16 pro. Was not happening on my 13

I will update the thread as soon as there is any significant news to share.  In short, it seems we'll need to partner with Apple on a solution.  What they do with their native camera isn't necessarily available in public APIs.  Solving this may take some time.  Again, I will update here when I have new info.

@Charlie.D I'm just confused why my issue was merged into this thread. The other concerns in here aren't exactly what my issue is. And it seems like those two others having concerns never got an update in the past 2 years if the issue they were having was fixed.

@Charlie.D here's a link to the supported cameras and iPhone 16 is not listed, so I wonder if that's the issue - hasn't been optimized for the 16? https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Hello @skarmory87

It is true that support for iPhone 16 devices is not included in the current Camera Raw or Lightroom Mobile release.  Support should be coming soon.

I merged your post into this thread because I do not believe official support for your device is going to improve this issue.  The lack of Macro functionality in the UW lens in Lightroom Mobile's camera is a platform issue and is not new to iPhone 16.  Apple doesn't always make their internal functionality available via public APIs.  I believe the Lightroom team is still waiting to see if we can make progress on this with Apple.  There is no schedule info I can share at this time.
