I've been using LR with auto import for years now on my iphone & ipad. I'm considering doubling up and using icloud photo library as well, primarily for better support for video and photo animations/HEIC. I currently choose not to import videos into LR.
My main concern is conflict between LR imports and icloud saving space by deleting originals. I have the same loathing as anyone for a system that might sort of work most of the time but not every time.
Anyone have experience with this setup?
p.s. I'm also looking for space savings especially since I've hit 2 bugs with LR direct import and I'm not sure I believe in the feature so I have substantial space doubling by importing all of my camera images directly into the camera phone.
