I suspect the fonts you're using are type 1 fonts which are no longer supported. https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-missing-type-1-fonts-after-photoshop-23-0-update/idi-p/12480988

Photoshop Product Manager here...the deprecation of Type 1 fonts was first announced back in September 2019, since then we have tried to get the word out on the deprecation via Reddit, Twitter, and Adobe Community articles - but clearly the message did not reach all our valued users. The team is working on better and more consistent ways to communicate changes to the UI, workflows, and deprecation of features so changes have limited disruptions.

A few suggestions regarding the deprecation of

Photoshop announced end of life for PostScript Type 1 in fonts in 2021 (September 2019):

Adobe Photoshop will cease support of PostScript Type 1 fonts in year 2021. At that time, PostScript Type 1 fonts will no longer be listed in Photoshop's Font menu.

This legacy format, created by Adobe in the mid-1980s during the early days of desktop publishing, is already unsupported in major software applicatio

Yes it is ridiculously frustrating.
This is the problem : Adobe stopped supporting some older font file formats. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/asian-scripts.html

These older fonts continue to work in other Adobe app’s like After Effects and Premier.

NOTE: The older font types continue to work in Photoshop 2021. So downgrading may be a solution.

In the meantime it would be great if Adobe would provide a way to migrate these older font file types.

Having used Photoshop since 1992 I'm staggered by Adobe's decision to stop supporting Type1 fonts - anyone who works in the design industry will have collected a huge number of various type fonts over the years and for Adobe to say 'hey try an alternative' is not going to wash with clients. It's not about getting the message out there - it's actually about understanding what users need - this is a classic case of a big corporate becoming deaf to what it's core users require.

Some fonts on PS 2022 will show up in font menu but will be greyed out and not usuable, even though they are active within my font manager. I must open and use the file in PS 2021 to be able to use the font. (PS 2021 does not have this issue)

I'm using the latest M1 Macbook Pro

Adobe has announced the end of Postscript Type 1 fonts… It was supposed to take effect on January 2023 but maybe they advanced it…

Issue is still present in March of 2022! and it's to frustrating - I ended up opening the file in illustrator and saved it as pdf from there - text is selectable and crisp. But what a pain!

Yes the issue is still present. I doubt that Adobe is going to add support for Type 1 fonts back into their type engine.

The font family "Meta" in my user fonts is no longer recognized in PS 2022. I opened an old file that was previously perfect (about two years ago) and am getting error messages. I cleared the font cache, reset preferences, closed and reopened, deleted and re-installed the font, updated PS, restarted the computer, and it still is not recognizing it.

I'm running Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1 and the very latest version of PS.

Please help! I can't use a substitute font because this one is baked into my logo and I need it to match. Thank you!

Yes, that's exactly it. Thank you so much. It's good to know what the problem is, anyway.

Per my experience, checking the indenting has solved the problem for me. Looks like it comes with the 'justify' options. What has worked for me has always been to press the "Enter" key from the first word that begins the line that gets missing.
