P: New Pen Pressure Bug

LEGEND ,
May 05, 2020 May 05, 2020

Latest update is causing brush to randomly lose pressure sensitivity for a few strokes at a time (especially/but not limited to: after zooming in or out). Have not had this issue prior to latest update. Any solutions?

This should be working in 22.x or later.

Are you using a Wacom or some other brand of tablet? How are you zooming in and out? Express keys? Keyboard? Tool?

Current gen cintiq, zooming out with +/- or zoom tool. But it's not limited to only after zooming it will just occur randomly as well.

I'm experiencing this bug too. I lose pen pressure on Mac Catalina when rotating canvas.

Also, rotate canvas command cause image to shift to a new location when zoomed in.

Can you make a screen capture of what you're seeing with zooming not working correctly with canvas rotation? I've tried reproducing that with no luck.

It happens when already zoomed in and then rotating. Instead of the canvas staying in place, it instantly snaps to a much lower portion of the image.

I'm in the middle of a job, but will send a screen capture when I finish.

I think I may be seeing what you are describing. You have floating documents turned on (not docked in the app frame), correct?

Yes. I do not use the application frame. I just made a screen recording...

As others have noted, the pen pressure bug most often appears when clicking on another app. It also reverses itself by clicking on another app a second time. I lost a lot of time dealing with the various bugs while getting through my illustration job this week. Disappointing considering the very costly monthly subscription to Creative Cloud.

This is incredibly frustrating, I updated today (Mac Catalina) and I am losing my pressure on and off all day.

Jeffery, does the latest update fix these problems in Mac Catalina?

I am having the same problem as the original poster. Cursor looses pressure sensitivity quite constantly (like every 5 or 10 minutes).

When it started I'd quit PS and restart it, now I found out that clicking once with the mouse would re-establish the pen pressure, but it's a real pain in the neck as I have to get the mouse, click, undo (because I very rarely want a 100% pressure brush) and then go back to the pen and tablet. Extremely annoying and disappointing considering how much we pay for the subscription.

Using a MacBook Pro 16,1 with Catalina 10.15.4 and a Wacom Intuos Pro with the latest driver. I imagine it's a PS problem thou as this only happens in PS.

The latest update didn't fix it.

This has started happening to me since update, happens every time I show and hide a layer, I have to reset the pen for the pressure sensitivity to come back. Very frustrating!

Updated to 21.1.3 and the problem persists. Still just randomly losing pressure often --- my current workaround is to have my current brush easily available as a tool preset in the floating window so i can quickly reset the tool. Please help!

Yes! This exact thing has been happening to me for weeks! Especially when I switch between Firefox and Photoshop. I've updated/reinstalled everything (reinstalled drivers, reinstalled Photoshop, all my plug-ins, firefox, my OS...) and nothing's helped.
