Hi everybody,

I changed to Photoshop 2021 recently and now I have the following issue:

- I create a layer with text in one color, for example white

- I convert the layer to shape

- The coverted text has an unwanted black outline

Somebody has an idea how to change this?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

This seems to be a bug in Photoshop's (22.0.0) conversion of shapes, where the layer stroke style gets suddenly set to: Stroke Color ' Black', Stroke 1px'.

It is quite annoying and also happens when converting shapes into smart objects (inside the smart object).

To fix it, set the stroke style of the layer to: Stroke Width '0.00pt'.

Don't just set the Stroke Color to 'No Color', because then it may reappear, depending what you do later with that layer (change color, convert to smart object etc.)

That's probably correct. I've asked if the fix for this issue fixes this issue with Type as well: https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/photoshop/photoshop-strokes-appear-on-shapes-after-reop...

I'm having this issue too after the update. Properties panel for the live shape doesn't show helpful properties so the outline is just there...For me I edited the shape after converting to it to a shape. Didn't notice the outline until I reopened the working file this morning.

I'm trying to export a logo wordmark (which is a text layer in a PSD file) to a universal SVG, which requires me to convert it to a shape. When I convert it to a shape, it just shows up with a black outline.

As text layer:

Immediately after converting to shape:

This is really annoying and I'm not able to find a solution.
I'm using the latest version (22.1.0 release). This also seems to happen with any text being converted to shape, not just the ones I've tested.
If anyone knows, please help.

I just encountered this same issue. I export the paths to Illustrator, copied and pasted them back into Photoshop as paths. A solution for now. Hope this helps!
