P: Save For Web - "A write permissions error has occurred" - on macOS (Dropbox issue)

Can not export any legacy formats.
I have enabled photoshop 2021 in the systems security permissions for full disk access and the same for files and folders and accessibility, after having read some of the previous advice on here for older versions of photoshop and OS, but to no avail. An error message appears every time I try to save for web legacy - It's an animated GIF I'm trying to export. An incredibly frustrating fault that needs to be addressed soon!

Does your file name have underscores or special characters in it? Try saving your file as test.psd first then save for web.

OK – so after another restart the save for web function seems to be working. Not sure what actually fixed it, but maybe the permissions thing plus time, plus restarts did work in the end.

I can't use the Save for Web option for any images. I am using Mac Big Sur 11. 5.1. I have changed my privacy permissions so that Photoshop has full access but I can't get this to work. I read lots of similar issues and tried their fixes but the error persists.

@J5E83 Write permission errors usually have to do with permissions. Try granting Read and Write permissions to the Adobe folder at the locations mentioned in the link: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/required-permissions-for-photoshop0.html

I get an error message when I try to save for web and can't use the function. I have provided read/write permissions for Photoshop. I think this may have to do with my DropBox backup settings so I turned them off completely and reinstalled Photoshop. Now I am getting the error "The Operation Could Not Be Completed". I've attached the message.

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop.

If no, try logging into another account (you may need to make one), error? 

Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), error? 

You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: same error?

I'm trying to export a two frame animated gif. I'm going to Save for Web Legacy as normal but every time I'm getting the error 'Could not complete this operation. Hi, could you give us more info about your setup? Please post the contents of Photoshop's help>system info, so that we get to know your OS, its version, the exact version of Photoshop you are running, the date of the GPU driver, etc.
