I bought a new hp laptop recently. Ever since I have started using photoshop, the app freezes in some minutes into working.

I am unable to select anything after the freeze so I open task manager and end the program.

Please help me in resolving this issue.

Thanks for the info! Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed on the computer along with the latest drivers for the graphics card you have on the computer.

Also, try launching Photoshop as administrator to check if that helps.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind telling us which version of Photoshop you're using? Does Photoshop crash while performing a specific task? It would be helpful if you could share the configuration of your laptop.

You can try disabling the option to Use Graphics Processor from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

You can also try optimizing the Preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj

Hey,

I have tried both ways. They are not working as well. The is no particular tool through which the software freezes. It happens any time after opening the software.

Also, can I add that I am facing similar issue for Adobe Indesign as well

If I run the apps as an administrator, the freezing does not happen. Although, I cannot use drag and drop process in the photoshop after changing the settings.
