In 'Creative Cloud Desktop' it shows Photoshop version 21.2.9 and version 22.4.2, which is apparently the version I'm using. Can I uninstall 21.2.9? And when looking at Windows setting, Apps and features, it shows Photoshop 2020 and 2021. So can I uninstall 2020?
Yes, you can uninstall the older versions. When Adobe releases a version change (ie: 21 > 22), they do not delete the previous versions as they do when there is a minor upgrade such as 22.4.1 > 22.4.2.

If you do, the safest way to avoid issues with file preferences, is to uninstall the latest then continue to uninstall versions in reverse order to the oldest, then reinstall the latest. In theory just uninstalling the old should work, but there have been cases on this forum where file associations have become corrupted by doing that and needed registry edits to resolve them.

That's right. The latest installer activity, whatever it is, in or out or update, will take over the file associations. If it comes out wrong it's usually simple to set it right, but not always. Doing it in version order is always safe.

IMO you should have at least two versions of Photoshop installed. In case one become broken you can use the other.
