P: Bring Quick Share back to Photoshop (removed from 23.3)

Adobe, bring back the Quick Share button that was at the top right of Photoshop (it was just removed with the April release of Photoshop 23.3)

The reasoning for removing it is stated as "due to low usage, desire to simplify the options bar UI, and redundant functionality to other export functions."

But there is no other export function (that I am aware of) that allows you to send an image directly to another device via AirDrop -- This was extremely convenient as I didnt have to save/export a file onto my HDD everytime I wanted to send something to my phone or tablet.
Please bring it back and tuck it away somwhere if you have to.

Thanks for letting me now. Maybe it should have been in the release notes? The Airdrop thing was pretty handy. I used Keystroke Maestro to automate the process but got it to work without the quick share button so it worked out fine in the end for me:)

I think everyone is aware of that – but it's not really a fix as running Rosetta on an M1 has issues. Namely, certificates may appear as improperly signed. Fingers crossed that Adobe will at least bring back Air Drop.

Hi I updated to Photoshop Ver 23.3 and seems the Quick Share button is either missing or been removed, Does anyone know if this is a bug?

Share button on the far right:

Quick share has been removed. It is not a bug.

Just curious, which bit did you like?

The feature was different depending on platform (below Mac on the left). Are you on Mac or Windows?

See the earlier post from @jethros22349136 in this thread where they say they are on macOS10. They also say OS12 in the same sentence, so it's one of the two.

Thanks Jane, I either missed that or short-term memory loss! 🙂

As this is a Mac, the feature is available at the OS level in the Finder, right/contextual click or from a selected file if the toolbar has Share enabled:

Perhaps a custom AppleScript for Photoshop could make this directly available from Photoshop.

Hi Teachers,

I open a photo from raw to Photoshop or from Jpg to photoshop, 2 days ago, I press ctrl J, and a copy layer is shown. So I can continue my work without destroying the original photo.

Today, after the firmware update, each time I press ctrl J, the photo turns white.  I can not carry on with my work.

Please help.

Best regards,

Eric Cheung

OK... so I clicked on your link and it tells me the same thing in the help menu in photoshop to go to file and share.  Well on my Macbook Pro the share option doesn't exist under file and anywhere else for that matter.  So now what..... I use this function on a daily basis and now I have no way of doing it at all and doing it from photoshop was the easiest way to do it.

I cant belive the share functionality, which allows very quick sharing (even of multi layerd files, without even having to flatten the file) has been removed from Photshop 23.3.0!  I use this functionality all the time and so does several other people I know.  It allowed very rapid sharing via AirDrop (I am a Mac user) to others and other devices.  The new functionality (upper right Share button) is very limited and slows down workflow considerably when you want only to share a current version (flattened snapshop) of a multi layed document.

Please put this functioality back asap!   The very first people I shared this with was also very upset and said that is enough to them to not update PS!  Very bad move.  It is simply not true that people did not use it as was stated in some Adobe releae notes with the update.

As you are on a Mac, you can do this from the Finder (yes, not as convenient).

As the feature was removed in the latest update, you can use an earlier version, however, that may not be a long-term proposition.

not convenient at all but it says that it should be under file/share.  I still don't have that option either which I would be fine with doing it that way.  Curious as to why it isn't there either.

I know many people who use this functionality I seriously doubt the suggestion that this feature was not widely used! I know when I showed people this functionality along time ago they were unaware of it in immediately started to use it all the time themselves.  So maybe it was not as widely used as it could've been if people knew it existed but I know many people who did use it a lot and are very upset that it is not being supported going forward.

@zigzagr45 – it is gone from both the menu and toolbar in this 23.3 April update version. It is noted as such and still listed for those on older versions.
