Re the now-locked thread on this topic, mention was made of the Corel driver PxHlpa64.sys being incompatible with Memory Integrity. Can anyone clarify what program installs this driver when it's is not already installed in a new Windows11 laptop?
I have the exact same problem of Windows 11 crashing at the manufacturer's logo screen following installation of Photoshop Elements 12 (I have been installing other software at the same time, inc Corel's Winzip, and hadn't yet isolated which program is causing the crash). This problem is also preceded by a system message stating that Px Engine Device Driver from Corel could not load due to an incompatibility with Memory Integrity. I have reset my computer to factory settings and confirmed that this driver is not present in the default Windows 11 installation (my computer does not have a DVD drive). I intend purchasing Photoshop Elements 2022 or 2023 to ensure Windows 11 comparability, but will the installation of this program also install the Px Engine Device driver, and if so, will it be a version that again causes a conflict with Memory Integrity?
I note the solution from the closed thread of renaming the driver so it doesn't load (and allow Memory Integrity to be turned back on). So in my case where the driver can't load with Memory Integrity turned on, I assume that if I encounter this problem again (with Photoshop Elements 2022 or 2023 installed), I can rename the driver and restart my computer to avoid the incompatibility with Memory Integrity? Will I need to turn Memory Integrity off as well during this process? Thanks for any help with this issue!

why don't you try installing/running pse 12 using compatibility mode (probably win 7 or thereabouts) or rename the driver. see if any program complains

Corel is a competing software maker of PaintShop Pro among others.
PSE 12 is way beyond it's sell-by date and hasn't received updates in 10+ years. It's an unlikely match for use on modern equipment and OSs.
Photoshop Elements 2023 IS compatible with Windows 11

Hope that helps.

The problem Nancy, PSE12 was a great product and if it's no longer supported that that's just life, but the later versions are not the same product and lack the core functionality of PSE12. I do have PSE23, but use PSE10!

PE12 and PE10 haven't been supported in a really long time. No updates have been released in well over 10 years. For backwards compatbility with legacy apps, you may have to perform some minor modifications to your settings. See MS Help article below.

Thanks to all folk who replied, including via direct contact with the Adobe support team. However, none of the replies have answered my question. As mentioned, I intend installing PSE 2023 given the problems already reported with PSE 12 and Windows 11. I have now reinstalled all my software on my new computer, excluding any PSE at this stage, and the PxHlpa64.sys PX Engine Device Driver has not been added to my system, nor has my system crashed. So fingers crossed, when I do install PSE 2023, it won't install the PxHlpa64.sys driver, or if it does, it will be a version that is compatible with the Windows 11 Memory Integrity feature!
