I download and installed PSE 2020 trial, imported a few pictures. When I click on the EDITOR button to edit the picture, I get the error 213:11. The error says to try and reboot which I have done without any success. Anyone?

Hi there,

Would you mind confirming if you are using a Mac or Windows? (The operating system version would also be helpful.)

You may try the steps mentioned in the article below to check if it helps.

Regards,

Nikunj

Ok. Please try the steps mentioned in the link above and then restart the computer prior to relaunching Photoshop Elements 2020 and let us know if that helps.

I did the steps in the linked article and then rebooted. Still the same error when trying to open the editor.

Please try the below mentioned steps once to check if that helps.

  • Close Photoshop Elements
  • Open the Run dialog box (Windows key+R)
  • Type in %appdata% and click OK
  • Open the Adobe folder
  • Delete the Adobe PCD folder
  • Delete the SLData folder

I did these steps but no change. Still error 213:11 (per screenshot above). I don't know if it matters but this PC has Adobe Creative Cloud (photography) installed on it.

I also uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled. Same problem continues.

Are you using an Administrator account to install?

The first install I did NOT specify to install using administrator. After having the error and trying several different solutions, I uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installed using administrator account. So far nothing has helped. I have Elements 15 installed on this PC and I just tried it and when trying to load the editor on an image, I get a similar failure as well.

After repeating the steps recommended still no success with editor. I have no idea how the program is designed but I DO NOT find an executable file for the editor.

Dear User,

The Executable for Editor can be found here, but I am suspecting that you would face the same error again.

Path to Editor exe file: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2020\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe

This error is generally encountered when the persmissions are not correctly set for folders related to licensing.

Can you please try to rename the below folder and try to launch the Editor using Elements Home:

Folder to rename:

1) C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore

2) C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\SLData

Please see if this helps, in the mean time we are trying to analyse the logs and come up with some solution.

Regards

Vipin

The problem is fixed. Here is what I did:

1. Found editor .EXE file, right-clicked it and "run as administrator".

2. A window popped up requiring me to login to my Adobe account. (Up until this time, I never saw this login screen).

3. Opened PSE2020 main program, then opened Editor. It started okay but eventually gave me a configuration error screen.

4. Renamed the SLData folder.

5. Started the main program again, had to login again, and all is well.

The problem seems to have been related to the fact that I never saw a login screen after doing the initiall install.
