Mac - Catalina - PSE 2020

Two issues I cannot resolve:

1. Every time I re-open, it goes back to full screen. How can I resize and keep it there?

2. It has a gray background for the workspace. Antway to change that? I prefer white.

Thank you.

I, too, have Mac - Catalina - PSE 2020

1. Every time I re-open, the screen is black; it is difficult to see the boundaries of my image/photo. How can I make it gray the way it used to be?

2. When I use the cloning tool, the brush size chart pops up even though I am careful not to choose it. It can be very persistent and makes it difficult to use the tool.

I can cure one of your problems. Place a photo into the work space. Now, right click on an area outside that picture. Choose the default options, or "customize".
