I have built a video in Premiere Elements 7 and I'm trying to save the video as H.264 format. When I click Save, I'm getting an "Activating Component" dialog that says I must activate this component in order to use this feature. It says "Go this this website: www.adobe.com/go/encoderactivation" but when I click the link, I get a "404 Page Not Found" message.
Can someone advise me how to complete this activation so I may save my video? Thanks for your help.
The activation server has been shut down.
Try installing the trial of Premiere Elements 2019 and it may install the necessary codecs which may remain even after Premiere Elements 2019 is uninstalled or the trial expires.

Thank you for the suggestion. Installing the version 2019 trial did not correct the issue with the version 7. However I did successfully recreate my project in version 2019 and built/exported it successfully. I guess it was unrealistic to think I could keep using version 7 forever.

Also, I'm not sure version 7 even had good H.264 support.
Version 7 was still being built around tape-based digital, like miniDV and HDV. There was some limited support for DSLR -- but good support for H.264 M2T video didn't really come into play until version 10.
If you're editing video from something other than a miniDV or HDV camcorder, it would definitely be worth a few bucks to upgrade to at least version 11, which is light years ahead of version 7 (which still required you to manually select your project settings!).
