I use this software to import pictures and video onto my computer but notice that using custom numbering, it imports the pictures newest first and gives it the first number so the oldest picture date/time-wise has the largest number. I see now way to change the sort in Adobe. I have resorted my photos on the SD card before importing but it still reverts to newest first. Help
Images need to have at least 3 digits: img_001.jpg to sort properly.

Hi Terse,
Thanks for reaching out. If I understood correctly, you have a bunch of media files that you are importing/adding inside Adobe Premiere Elements. You have numbered them serially, however, when you import them inside Premiere Elements 14, they are arranged as per their size and not the number. You are looking for an option to sort them as per the name assigned to them. Am I correct?
If yes, then I ran a test at my machine.
Let me know if it helps you.
Thanks,
Shivangi

Shivangi,
The last time I tried that I got very confused. It would only work up to 10 files. Then it would put "Test_11" between "Test_1" and "Test_2".
If you have the time, would you try it with maybe 20 or 30 files?

I'll test it on my end. Thanks for the heads-up, Bill!

You are right. I tested and found that sorting works only for less than 10 files. I am in conversation with the development team. I'll update you all if I'll find a workaround or log a bug.
Thanks again for updating about it, Bill.

Shivangi,
This is not new! It's been this way for years. How in the heck does one get a "conversation with the development team"?

Hi Terse,
@Ann Bens solved the issue for us.
In addition to what she said, if we wish to sort more than 9 files then the numbers should be given according to that.
Examples: test_1, test_2,,,,,,, test_9
Examples: test_01, test_02, test_03........test_99
Examples: test_001, test_002, test_003.......... test_999
Let me know if it works for all of us.
Thanks, @Ann Bens, @whsprague and @Peru Bob. I love the way how our community works.
