Audio effects are moving themselves

I am trying to apply audio effects to a clip in PE 2019. Two things are happening: whenever I stop then start play, the audio effect resets itself. Whenever I toggle the effect, it it starts moving the individual parameters by itself!! I can watch it moving the adjustments back and forth. What is going on? It did not do this before. Is this a setting, some automatic setting I can toggle off? This is super annoying to make adjustments then immediately lose them! Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of anything like this in 15 years of working this forum! What operating system are you on?

Does this happen if you add this effect to a WAV or MP3 file in your project?

Open your original video (the one this is happening to) in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy and paste the report it generates to this forum.

We may or may not be able to figure this out by examining your media's specs, but it's a good start.

Well, the file has a very non-standard resolution (2704x1520), so the program is probably not assimilating it well. But beyond that I'm not seeing anything strange.

What are you results if you apply this effect to an MP3 or, better, a WAV file?
