No sound with imported .vob files

This is with Premier elements 2019.  I have Windows 10.  I imported the .vob files from a DVD using the Add Media function in Premier Elements.

When I preview the files I see the vide but there is no sound.  This is either when I do a preview or when I play it in the timeline.

The audio 1 track in the timeline just shows a flat line.

My speakers interface to the computer via USB.

When I play the DVD via my Power DVD software the sound is fine.

I have also found that when I import these .vob files into Premier Elements 14 (my old version), that the sound is fine.

Any ideas?

Open one of the VOB files in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo set View to Text and then copy the report it generates and paste it to this forum. Once we know what the specs are of your video we'll be better able to answer your question.

You left out the drop down choices.  Can you try to see what happens if you select other choices?

The speakers connect to the computer via USB, so nothing is connected to the Sound Blaster card.

Can you try some other output like headphones?    Does it match the operating system selection?  Can you try changing the Default Input to "None"?

Since you have the current version 2019 you can get help from Adobe customer support through an online chat system.  They can remotely trouble shoot you setup.

Set default input to NONE.

Delete clip from project,

rename and import again,

see how that goes.

Still no luck.

I set the default input to "no input", made a new project and imported one of the .vob files into the new project.  Still no sound.

Then I disconnected the USB connection to the speakers and hooked up the audio cable from the sound card output to the speaker input.  Still no luck.  (The speakers do play though, I checked them with media player).

I havethe same problem.

(incidently: Forum does not work when I click on link in e-mail notification from Steve Grisetti.)

In answer to his question about mu audio issue:

When using video importer to import from a DVD (in my DVD drive).

(The video was originally made in an older version of premiere.)

Tried several different DVD’s w/ different projects…same result: video tracks are fine…audio tracks appear but contain no sound.

Now using: Premiere Elements 2019. Windows 10.

I have the same question, with Premiere Elements 2022. If I rip the DVD using HandBrake, what format do I convert it to? Thanks.
