I just want to add a Soluition I solved for my Project. Multicam wasn't showing the 9 different cams in multicam monitor anymore, even if I activated them in the settings (in multicam view/wrench icon) > edit cameras... If you got one or multiple multicam sequences in your project and you forget on one of them to activate your layers inside the multicam sequence (the blue highlighted on the left side of every layer for example V1,A1,V2,A2) all other multicam sequences can get confused and so the muticam monitor breaks. Just highlight them all and you should be good to go. If it breaks again, it helps to have the MC-timelines open as well and you have to jump inside of them and go back to your Main timeline. Its not Perfect but a solution for the time beeing.
Hope that saves the hours of pain researching about this multicam error I had to figure out myself. Cheers!

I've been updating PPro Beta hoping there is a fix, no luck. The problem is still here, and to be honest what annoying most it's that nobody in Adobe seems to care even to response this and other post with the same problem.

The software is in their worst era (bugs & crash talking) and seems that they don't care.

That doesn't reproduce any problem, on multiple test systems, here.

GreatJobTommy's solution looks encouraging. Did you try it? What did you find?

>The software is in their worst era (bugs & crash talking) and seems that they don't care.

I'm not sure what's telling you that...? Regardless, we care.

If you can provide steps that reliably reproduce a problem, we're happy to pursue it.

About that 'worst era': For quite a while now, each new release of PPro has had fewer bugs and crashes than the previous. So, while all software will always have bugs forever, the current release is the best PPro has ever been. 🙂

Sorry if Im harsh, but I'm really frustrate that sometimes I expend more time trying to deal with an annoying bug or looking a workaround instead of doing my job wich is edit videos not beta tester.

Yes, I've been trying anything I've read.

Also I did a report listing all the post I've found with the same problem (I don't know what else should I do), maybe there you can find sometime that helps you to understand the problem.

I've included a video capture of the bug over in my report. I didn't see Jorge's until he brought it to my attention.
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/multicam-view-breaking-in-latest-release/idi-p/1394...

I'd like to note that it's not actually returning to composite view -- you can tell the difference by the black around the frame instead of the gray you get when you're viewing a composite frame. It's just not displaying the other cameras.

A flush of cache and preferences and a reset did help a bit, but it's still popping up. These are the kind of bugs you can't reliably recreate which makes them so frustrating. But Bruce -- gas lighting us by being like "Premiere Pro is better than ever! ;)" is not a good look for a company that claims it's taking seriously the stability issues folks have been complaining about for at least half a decade.

If you want to stop hemorrhaging professional editors, we want less unwarranted positivity and more visible improvements. Stop rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic and start bailing out water.

Hello,

For those that are hitting this issue, how did you create your multicam?  specifically, did you select the clips in the project panel, right click and select create multicam?  and if so, what sequence settings did you use?  Camera 1, all cameras, or switch audio?  Also, if you go to your general project settings, what is the renderer set to?  Are you using transmit when this happens? if so, any chance you can post a screen shot of your playback prefs?  lastly, can you click on the wrench in the program monitor and take a screenshot of that menu?  I so far have not seen this, but would love to get it figured out.

Thanks!

Downgrading back to 23.3 fixed this for me.. It's a stupid solution, but one that works until Adobe fixes it in the newer builds.

Someone will need to attempt to answer at least some of @Todd_Reeder 's questions here if we are going to make any real progress toward a resolution.

Hi @Todd_Reeder - not the original poster but also having this problem and appreciate that you're trying to recreate so thought I'd give my setup.

Multicam work area was built up by putting all the tracks on different layers, nesting them and then right click, multicam, enable.

My project settings are:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 205810.png

I can edit for a while using the number keys, if I click on one of the angles to change it manually that's when it breaks for me. Here's how it looks:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 211548.pngHere are my settings at that point from the wrench button:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 211604.png

This is happening for me on both my Windows and Mac. Windows build is 23.5.0 (Build 56). If you need the mac one I can check that later but hopefully this is enough to go off of.

Windows machine is an i9 10850K with an Nvidia 3080, 32gb of ram. All footage is running off of an SSD and everything on the screen is ProRes Low Res proxy.

For me this only currently seems to happen when it's paused and I click on an angle rather than pressing a number on the keyboard. Good luck recreating, hopefully you can work it out! Thanks!

I'm not Todd, but I have a question; what transmit device are you using?

To answer some of Todd's questions:

- I created my multicam using the steps you identified: selected my two clips, right clicked, then selected create multicam. However, after that I opened up the multicam sequence in the sequence panel and added more clips manually, syncing them using the "synchronize clips" tool.

- I used the Camera 1 setting, but I also may have changed audio settings in the multicam sequence

- Here are my project settings:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 at 2.04.10 PM.png- I am not sure what you mean by "using transmit."

As an aside, wiping my prefs and cache did in fact seem to fix this issue, but I had only been working on a fresh install of PP for a matter of hours before the error cropped up so I don't think it should be terribly hard to recreate. Especially reading the folks below that are having the issue across platforms.

Experiencing the same bug in my project. It only happens on the very longest sequences. I have many that are 7-12 hours long, and they are all affected. For sequences under 3 hours I'm not experiencing it.

Thank you everyone for the info, that was really helpful!  We think we have a fix and it is in the latest beta (Pr Beta 24.0.0.18 or higher).  If anyone checks it out, please let us know how it works.  Thanks!
