UPDATE 9-30-24:  This has been fixed in build 31 or later.  Please update your app!

So while GPU acceleration works again I'm now having a weird issue that I cannot add new audio clips to the timeline anymore.

Issue:

On drag/drop all I get is the empty outline of the clip, which stays when I release left mouse button. After that i can neither move or select it. Tried everything, but it never adds the clip to the timeline.

What is broken:

- Drag/Drop works neither from a project bin nor the source window nor the Windows Explorer.

- Using Insert/Overwrite from the Source Window has no effect.

- When dragging an Audio file to the "New Sequence" button it creates an empty sequence.

- Dragging video files works only if there's no audio track attached

More information:

Yes, the source patching is correctly set. I can also drag/drop new video files (without audio). I can also drag around existing audio clips, duplicate them, replace their contents from source, etc.

Anyone else? I think it was working in the version before the CUDA bug got introduced, but can't be 100% sure.

OKAY I'VE FIGURED IT OUT -- Turns out in my case, setting "Default Media Scaling" in Settings > Media to "Fit" - is what is causing the issue. Setting that back to "none" appears to solve the issue

Hello,

I'm at a loss here. Using Premiere Pro Beta (have been using it for a while) but it seems I am unable to drag clips to the timeline anymore.

I'll drag them over and it will appear as if it is there but in reality it isn't.

It's difficult to explain properly so have attached a clip to show what I mean.

It works properly on the non beta version

Please could someone help me out here?

Thank you to whoever my post... only just realised there's a separate forum for the beta versions
Additionally I discovered a temp fix on here by backdating to version 25.0 (though now every import is duplicated 🤔)

Great, so I'm gone two days and suddenly there's a "correct answer" on my thread, that is in fact not correct.

Yes, resetting preferences "fixes" the problem (I tried that initially), but once you set everything back up the problem is also back. Thanks to @Tom_edit who figured out that it is infact the media scaling setting. If I set it to "Fit to frame" I cannot add audio clips to a timeline. If I set it to anything else then the problem goes away. Don't even have to restart Premiere for it to change behavior.

Please check again @mayjain

I just opened 25.1 0 (25) and nada.

Went to Preferences, changed default scaling from Set to to None.

Bingo, I get images on sequence with their sound.

Not even sure where to start.  Last 2 beta builds won't let me add clips to a timeline.  the clips seem to take a posotion in the time line, but no next appears in the segment and you can't play  the clip, slide it in a time line, or select the clip to delete it.  The clips seem to work fine in the non beta. At first I thought is was due to iphone media, but it happens with all clips.

I just installed the new update on 09/27/2024 and this problem persists: it is not possible to insert new clips into the timeline.

They even appear on the timeline, as shown in the image below, but they become useless. It's not even possible to delete them unless I close the project and open it again.

Any solution? If not, I will once again return to version 25.0.

There's a weird bug ... and to get past it, The fix is:

Go to the Preferences, and set Default Scaling to "None".

Now you can work away and create sequences and add media normally.

I have been having this issue for a week now all of the sudden on Premiere Pro Beta. Every time I drag and drop any new audio files onto the timeline, you see the audio file on the timeline but its solid green with a white outline. It does not show the audio waveform, does not play the audio in the timeline, and you cannot trim it or edit it in any way. Even if I drag and drop a new audio clip over pre existing audio clip on the timeline it does not effect anything like its not even there. Also when I place an audio clip on to the timeline I cannot move it around.

This is happening on both my 2022 macbook pro and iMac. I even tried importing everything on a new project file and it still does the same thing. Its only audio, I can drag drop video files just fine and the program is updated.

Is there solution? Any help will be appecieated. This is so fraustating and its making me fall behind on my work.

Aktuell kann ich keine Audio-Daten oder Video mit Audio verknüpft in das Schnittfenster importieren. Es wird dann nicht angezeigt.

Ich benutze ein MacBookPro 2021 M1 Max mit OS Sequoia 15.0.

Currently I cannot import audio data or video linked with audio into the editing window. It is then not displayed.
I use a MacBookPro 2021 M1 Max with OS Sequoia 15.0.
