I had no problem on the previews versions. The same project, but 2020 version.
You upgrade and things get worst.
Why this now?

Can you tell us more about the clip? such as: codec, frame rate and frame size and the camera/source of the media. Is this on Windows or Mac?

I am also having very slow playback and processing for basic 1920.1080 MOV files on a brand new windows gaming computer. Any ideas what this could be?

Lee, I heard one user workaround this issue by changing the codec for rendered previews. You need to get into Sequence Settings > Editing Mode > Custom and then move to the section for Video Previews > Video File Format: I like to use QuickTime > ProRes LT. Try it and let us know if that worked.

Why man is this 2020 update so bad. Got a new machine specifically for 4k video editing.
I've been trying to change 2 pieces of text for 2 days now. The panels appear black. The legacy title creator has functions that has disappeared randomly. Like I cant change the color of my text! Its not like they removed it. Its just glitchy. Auto save doesn't work the same and so when it crashes I lose everything. I'm staring at my project and I can't click on my timeline.

2019 update broke everything too. I want to go back to 2018!!!!

I'm having the same issue as well. Seems like if you change it to "Software Only" it works, but doesn't work with CUDA

There is lots of bug in Premiere Pro 14.0.0.
There is a Bug that change the colour of my footage or it show the Black frame or Green frame and, It change the settings automatic and some more other types of bugs please help us on this

Switching to software only (from Metal and/or OpenCL) does seem to fix it ... but I imagine that means I'm not actually using the best the machine has to offer. Not great. All the other apps in cc have had bug fix updates by now ... time for some premiere improvements.

Still having this problem - across 3 projects. Speed changes over 100% cause terrible playback. You can view if you manually scrub with the mouse, but otherwise it freezes up.

These are all projects that have moved over from 2019.

Ahas anyone encountered this problem with projects started natively in 2020?

the new update 14.0.1 still not fix the bug.

bug still present, even with projects startet in 2020 and not converted from older versions. prerendering all effects and clips does not help. neither does the use of proxies.
