Can I keep the adobe application on an external harddrive?

I am traveling soon and don't want to bring my computer, just my laptop..which can't handle Premiere Pro cause it's an old mac. Can I download Premiere pro on an external harddrive and use it on my laptop? (running off the external drive). Need to know ASAP, any help would be appreciated. I could test it but i want an answer first cause freeing up the space on the drive will take me a while. Thnx.

its risky. but if your old mac mac cant handle premiere, having it on an external drive wont be much help
