I have also tried to modify the file cuda_supported_cards.txt but it is not available in the directory of premiere. What should I do?

The only thing you can do is buy an 'new' card.

I had the same issue. Bought a second hand 480. Up and running again.

Unfortunately the 285 wont work with 2017.

The card is too old and lacks certain technology.

Hi

Same issue with an  old GTX 580 card here, that use to do the work up until CC2017.

I just upgraded two Mac Pro Towers 5,1  to newer Nvidia cards and now both computers are lighting fast.

I went online  to MacVidCards (Same place i originally bought my modified GTX 580 4 years ago), who is the only specialist I know that flashes perfectly the EFI on  the latest Nvidia cards to  show boot screen on Mac.

MacVidCards.com - Home

I got:

one Titan 12GB X *Maxwell

and one GTX 1080 Pascal 8 GB

The Titan is already installed and works at the speed of light for rendering in Premiere.
The display quality is also stunning.

I am waiting to get the GTX 1080, but I am pretty confident it will go fine.

Hope it Helps

Best

Hi, considering that I must buy a new video card, I am undecided among the 980 or the Titan. Which do you recommend me? Does The 980 work as a card recommended by Adobe for GPU acceleration (CUDA)? Does The Titan have different versions which I must take? Thanks

Don't spend any money until you have a guarantee that the card will work.

I am running a nVidia GTX970M ... there's been a new problem after every  update. Now the GPU won't accelerate at all. Renders are very slow because i can only use software renders. When I try to use CUDA Accell, I get a black screen, or the White screen of death on the program monitor, and the source monitor. I can't scrub through any of the media.

I've spent the equivalent of 2 or 3 days on-line  with Adobe Tech, who are very very helpful and friendly and patient, but they haven't been able to get the problem fixed.

The amount of time I've spent working around and solving bugs is making me consider buying a MAC and switching to Final Cut.

Don't get me wrong. I really want to stay on PC and use the full creative cloud suite, which if it can work can be extremely useful. Unfortunately, lately I spend more time trouble shooting than working. This is a big problem, my projects are almost dead in the water now.

Adobe updated Premiere CC to version 2015.3 and with this new version, they dropped support for older “legacy” video cards, which means they don't work correctly anymore with the Mercury Playback Engine set for GPU.

These cards include:

GTX-200 series and mobile versions

Here is the link to the list of video cards compatible with Premiere Pro CC 2017 that Giovanni requested:

Premiere Pro System Requirements for Mac OS and Windows

Is anyone also experiencing a second issue (but even more important at least for the moment) I've had after installing the 2017 update in which NONE none of my audio tracks or sound files will play after upgrading to Premiere Pro CC 2017. I've followed the instructions in Adobe Help for Premiere Pro (No sound during playback)  but no luck. I assume the two 2017 update issues are unrelated but both associated with the update code (bugs!). Nasty. Oy vey! Please help! Many thanks.

Every "update" I've installed has made Premiere a little bit worse. Now cuda doesn't work at all on Premiere, or the encoder. Renders take 5 - 10 times as long today as they did with my old laptop running CS6.

Premiere and CC could be great, but unfortunately now I spend more time working around bugs than getting projects finished. My entire day today was spent with adobe tech trying to get Premiere to work.

For the first time in my working life of more than 2 decades I'm actually considering buying a MAC so that I can switch to Final Cut Pro. I don't have much choice, Premiere just is not stable

CUDA is not available any more. (Or what ?)

We are becoming crazy with this updates that destroy the old good system JUST TO MAKE US BUY NEW CARD.

Unbearable.

(Update to CC2017 made....Still with my good GTX 960M...CUDA out of function)

Early this week I was reassured by Adobe Technical that they know about the problems with various cards and are working on a solution. My experience with the nVidea 970M is mixed now. I cannot run it on GPU acceleration in Premiere 2017, but I did get a project to render with GPU acceleration in the encoder, even though Premiere was set to software-only. I don't know if that will be reproducible. I'll be trying more renders this coming week.

When I got hold of Adobe tech support they said my GeForce 960M was no longer supported - I registered a complaint with adobe and they came back and said in fact the GPU was still supported - they suggested I do a foreced - clean install of the GPU drivers - it worked! Instead up updating drivers via the Nvidea app - go to the Nvidea site and download the driver and do a clean install.
