Export is not the same as in timelime

Hi!

When I try to export my videos the export doesn't match the videos in the timeline. The footage that I have are screen recordings with 60fps and my sequence is 60fps. All the numbers match. It a bit hard to explain, but if you look at the pictures you can see that the source doesn't match with the output on the same timestamp.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Sorry looks the same to me. What does not look the same according to you.

NB; if you have MPE hardware turned on, turn off MRQ.

It does not look the same. Don't you see that the cursor is in a different place?

And what is MPE and MRQ?

How far out is it? Are we talking a matter of frames? Are there any instances of black at the beginning or end of the video, that might account for the extra frames?

The settings do look like they should match.

Perhaps try exporting from Adobe Media Encoder and see if that provides any different results?

It starts 21 seconds into the video. And then at 26 second, it seems as though it jumps to the correct frame.

No, there is not anything black.

I haven't tried that. The computer I work on is not mine, it's the schools I go to and it does not have Media Encoder. And I'm not allowed to download anything to the computer. But I will try if I can get the teacher to download it for me

The bitrate might be constant, what about the framerate?

I used OBS Studio to record, but I can't find if it is recorded with constant of variable framerate.

When I click on source setting on the file. This comes up.

The 21.14 is the timecode of the playhead.

Guessing it is VFR hence the difference.

Check your file with Mediainfo and post screenshot in treeview.

I notice a difference between reference frames: 2 versus 4.

Perhaps that is the source of your problem?

Do you want the export to start at 21 seconds? Is that a deliberate choice? Or would you like to export the full sequence?

Could the variation be a result of the setting of Key Frame Distance under the Advanced Settings of your Video tab?

I want the whole sequence, it just starts to not match the timeline at 21 seconds. The Key frame distance is not enabled in my advanced settings.

Because as I have said earlier, at 24 seconds it does this weird jump. Like it tries to get to the right frame. And that does not look pretty.

Try to clear your Cache MANUALLY.

1- in PP: Preference --> Media Cache. This will show you where the cache folders are located.

2- Close PP, navigate to those folders and delete everything inside.

3- re-open PP, give it time to re-create cache files.

4- report back
