Question about file size

Some videos edited with Premiere Pro are way too big for the website. The largest that they can be is 1GB and the ones I have are 6.5GB.  Can this be easily done?

There are lots of variables here but you can exprt most videos to under 1GB easily. Use the H.264 format and choose Match Source - Medium Bitrate. You will see a size estimate at the bottom of the dialogue. If it is too big, try Low birate.

You mentioned you exported videos and they were about 6.5GB - assuming these are high quality exports you can drop these already exported files into Media Encoder and then re-encode them to smaller files. Saves having to export from Premiere Pro everytime you want to try out a different data rate on your smaller encoding.

Or you can export from Premiere Pro and instead of clicking 'export' in the Export Settings window - click 'Queue'. This will open Media Encoder and allow you to export from it and continue to work in Premiere Pro.

A half hour program using the H.264 format setting and the 'Match Source - Medium Bitrate' preset (in Media Encoder OR Premiere Pro) will give you an end file size of around about 1GB.

The size of your final encode is dependent on a number of factors.

Your frame size i.e. 1920x1080

Your datarate for both Video and Audio

and most importantly the length of the video

If you encode a 30 minute program using the above settings and get about 1GB file size, then a 1 hour program using the same settings will end up being twice the size (about 2GB) ...

so to get a 1 hour program to be 1GB you would have to halve the datarate.

You haven't provided enough details. You should probably include the following information:
-Source footage origins and details (codec, resolution, and frame rate; if you don't know these MediaInfo tool can help)
-Sequence/project settings
-Export settings (codec, resolution, and frame rate)

You can add screen images by drag&drop right into the message window.

All videos are exported MP4 now but still too large to upload on the website

To give you meaningful answer/advice instead of just a guess, we need details, but if you are not interested, that's ok...

I you want just transcoding of existing file into lower size/quality -that can be done by dozens of different tools. I prefer ffmpeg
