No, that will not be accepted. You need at least 4MP images. And please note that most pictures nowadays are 20-50MP and some are even reaching Adobes limit of 100MP...

In reality I have a lot of pictures over 10 years old;

at the time, we favored low resolutions, to quickly transfer files ...

I never put pictures into a lesser resolution than the camera was able to produce. You never know when they are needed at full resolution...
