I do not know eactly what process i used for those images but the results after saving are kind of random anyway. Hair texture exported from substance painter Save for web (png 24, and even if this did work it is astronimically slow, it's insane) Quick export as png Export as PNG (ensuring transprency is enabled) Save a copy Save As works SOMETIMES, other times it does this for no reason. Meaning even if it can work i hae to double check the file every time. This has been a known problem with photoshop amoung game developers for over a decade and it's never been reliably fixed. People used to use SuperPNG but now that seems to be gone or just too old to work. Colors without transparency before export Colors without transparency after export (and modified colors cause that was the need) Why has this never been fixed? Who needs PNG's to work this way? Two decades of people complaining about this problem, and photoshop has never fixed it for what reason? Shouldn't it be considered embarassing that the defacto image program can't export a usable PNG for anything but a twitter post?

There's support for HDR images on windows, it's just support for HDR on WIndows 10 was rough and only got better on Windows 11. But for some reason more programs support HDR on Mac than PC >:/ It's annoying really and inexcusable.

Alternative suggestion: Give us a "convert slices to artboards" thing or something. Cause creating artboards is not as easy as slices for my needs.

I don't understand why I still have to use a legacy export option (save for web) to use slices. Why hasn't save for web been fully replaced after god knows how many years. I always use slices for exporting references from concept sketches, as it's easy to separate into individual images in a single export. I'm sure there's many other uses too. This is just another of the baffling things that has remained unupdated and thus kind of feels like more bloat instead of a cohesive well made program. Like I need this feature, but it's there as old baggage rather than brought up to the times. So much of photoshop feels like this lately...

I think the problem is the stylization filter, it appears opacity does not export properly at all if that filter is added, I had to bypass the filter in substance designer to fix the problem.

I used substance designer on a laptop for the first time today and it is HORRENDUS. It's actually impossible to navigate without a mouse remotely comfortably. Why is every program like this? Does no one use laptops anymore? Cause my god. We've had fantastic track pads on windows for like 10 years now and every program is stuck in the early 2000's. This is why people move to tablets no one cares on PC. Please, please make this work properly with trackpads, and touch while you're at it. Programs like these NEED decent navigation. Use blender as an example, navigating it's nodes is a DREAM on a laptop. It's fluid and just works how you expect.

Upon exporting an .sbs it appears there's an error in the export where the opacity is assigned as a color map instead of grayscale. I would say this is a pretty serious export bug.

Normally I use photoshop with a touch screen, so i haven't really thought about it, but today I decide to work on my suface laptop studio for work instead of my desktop. Low and behold the touch pad experience is aweful. Why is every goddamned program archaic like this? Why does adobe not care about windows users? This and the senseless removal of the modifier keys panel is REALLY REALLY making me look for a permanent alternative even if i'm grandfathered into the $10 a month thing. Why is photoshop so archaic?

The Raytraced ambient occlusion node has a lot of potential use for me, but the problem with it is it's very noisy. A denoise node would allow lower samples and better performance along with keeping the quality high. Please add this.

I spent hours on this problem before finding the cause. I'm trying to create some decal materials but for some reason the normal map kept looking wrong. It seems the issue is "Warp Projection" which seems to be the default when holding alt to add as a decal. in the below image the top is warp pojection while the bottom is UV. The issue also does not occur in Planar Projection mode.,

Why was this removed? There's so few things tha makes photoshop on touch and on a tablet viable and they remove one of them while the rest of the program remains archaic. It constantly feels like windows users are ignored and they wouldn't pull this crap on OSX. Just like OSX supporting HDR but not windows when it's had HDR for years.

This problem is actually making it difficult to work in some cases cause substance painter will legit just crash when you open it if anyone else is using the same library. Isn't the point of multiple libraries is to collaborate? EDIT: I can't even send an error report cause it locks up so bad.

Photoshop IS bloated but more cause of all the old stuff weighing it down and archaic UI. It's great photoshop can be what it needs to be for different people. But it's also got a bunch of stuff thats duplicated, redundant, and old. Multiple ways to save a gif/jpeg/png (why has "save for web" not been replaced yet), camera raw being a separate thing having multiple redunant photoshop functions for no real reason (granted i'm not mainly a photographer). Thats just naming a few. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't keep with the times, it just needs a real revaluation.

I care less and less about whatever bean counter decided to deprioritize this request because pretty soon all of Adobe's image creation and editing software will be obsolete and irrelevant. I already use it at least 80% less than I did just five years ago. By @5t3v3 honestly I find it frustrating how much I have to bounce around to different programs just to get what I need. Photoshop used to be a onestop but now clip studio is in it's stride, fresco is nice for sketching, i mainly use photoshop for puppet warp, and occasional game dev needs (and thats shaky cause photoshop does very bad things to PNGs). ScreenToGif is generally more viable for editing and compressing gif files, sometimes video too. I have to use Affinity to open a bunch of formats photoshop doesn't easily support. Photshop doesn't want to open OEXR files properly like affinity, no JXR, no AVIF (in proper photoshop I couldn't care less about camera raw). Affinity is my only option for viewing and editing images in HDR. I just don't like affinity as a program to main it, yet. So i'm stuck bouncing to different programs cause photoshop doesn't care about being a market leader for more than photo editing i guess? At this point the main reason I keep my photoshop sub is cause i'm grandfathered into the $10 a month thing. Not costly enough for me to cancel. Maybe the program is too old and bloated for a real improvement, hence why there's like 6 different photoshop adjacent programs they've made over time. Why not just leave the current version on maintenance and start over? 15 years using photoshop and saving a gif hasn't changed. Might seem like a nonsequitor but that represents how I feel about photoshop as a whole.

That's a dumb mentality from a product standpoint. The fact anyone takes the time to complain here is a blessing. Not like this site has tons of engagement. search deviant art for swatches, gumroad. Plenty of sites. Swatches are core for artists, thats why fresco was designed in a way that makes sense. Unless Photoshop has given up artists to clip studio and procreate. And the problems with libraries has been there for at least 5 years now.
