Have you tried this method to create a border inside? Create a new blank layer, just in case. Make sure that layer is selected in the Layers panel. Select > All Edit > Stroke, set it to Inside (in this case), 100% Opacity, enter the number of pixels in Width text field, and choose a color.

No, such a shortcut never existed. If you mean, for example, numbers 1 to 9 to set a reference point (presumably adding some modifier like Ctrl+Shift or similar), that would be convenient. Perhaps you could post it as an idea to improve and speed up the workflow?

Do you use JavaScript or Photoshop actions? I am testing version 26.7.0 with the Replace Contents step recorded in the same version without any issues. Could you provide more details about the problem and perhaps a screenshot showing the error, with the Layers panel expanded and visible?

Have you tried resetting preferences? That’s the first thing that comes to my mind. Just be aware that unsaved presets and actions will be lost. Preferences in Photoshop

I am with @ExUSA you need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card if you can afford it. Although it may work as it is for now, looking ahead, you will likely encounter issues. The main thing to remember is that the same components, like the Ryzen 5 5500, are not the same for laptops and desktop machines; the same rule applies to processors. Desktop versions are better because of laptop cooling systems limitations.

It can have a gradient at certain angles, perhaps in a Reflected style. You can also try painting and then clipping that layer to the Type layer. You may need to adjust the painted area slightly, possibly using blur or Opacity to achieve a unique look that is not easily replicable.

I am with @melissapiccone , and here are my $0.02. In Bridge, you have the option to show files from subfolders, which will save you tons of time. Don't forget the Window > Filters tab, which can boost productivity when searching for certain types of files and more...

I cannot reproduce the issue on my end with Photoshop 26.7.0 on Windows. Everything functions as expected with the Move tool active and Auto-Select > Layer checked. I tested with pixel-based, vector-based, and Smart Object layers with the layer mask. The only instance where the mask was selected upon clicking on content was when the mask was applied to a Type layer. The Outer Glow effect does not alter anything.

Which tool was active when you clicked? What you are describing seems like right-clicking above text with Move tool active, without any text selected.

It's not Photoshop's fault, either the browser or OS is adding a background color. Photoshop is accepting whatever is in the clipboard without adding a background.

Do you want to fill the selected area with the Foreground or Background color to modify the mask? Use Alt / Ctrl + Backspace for this, those are the default keyboard shortcuts for that operation.
