I thought about this before placing this question here, but I thought it didn't add any information. I will have a look at what Rog_Cullen writes, and then come back - or, hopefully, not. Thanks anyway, for now

I have been trying to organize my photo's with keywords (of course I have), but there is one thing I don't seem to be able to solve. In category 'other' I find 'not people' keywords AND 'people' keywords, and they shouldn't be there, I presume. These are in 'people' too, but slightly different. It is about approximately 650 photos in both sections. The question is how to remove the person photos from 'other' without removing them from 'people'. Some time ago I tried to remove them in that way, from 'other', and I had to load an earlier catalogue to get the keywords back. I hope that someone here knows how to solve this, thanks, Hans van den Berg, The Netherlands

I have the same problem, I'm using Windows 10. This seems a bug. For the moment back to nonbeta version.

Kglad, did you miss another point, maybe? It is very well possible, I would think, that many or even a majority of the tens of millions users never find out about this. I just discovered because there seemed to be a problem. I find your comment here somewhat arrogant.

I am sorry, I don't know (anymore). The problem solved itself, I think, after some time.... Good luck with this, I know it is annoying.

Sorry, don't overcomplicate things? That's a nice one in this case. Just like others here: it takes hours to change pages or collections one by one. Moreover, placing a photogrid (width etc.) can be done in several ways, each changing the next. Those global page styles are just about nothing when the user cannot change this style to his or her liking.

I have a question, or maybe a suggestion: is it possible, with the keyboard, to switch from add to subtract (and v.v.) without having to hold the alt key? Or is there a way to make the keyboard do this?

Thanks, Jane, I did use the eraser tool because nothing else seemed to work. When I use (I tried) this black and white thing everything got black, or part of the photo got darker. When I saved this photo, it was still the same. I am sure that there is an easy way, but for me, I cannot find it. Something like 'select all' and then making (by drawing a line or so) everything more transparent from upper left to under right. Mostly, I am able to find out myself how to solve things, but here the learning curve seems extremely steep. I don't know what's going on, but this should be easy. I am going to have a look at the link you put in your message. Now I am going to take a tranquilizer, this is so annoying ... It reminds me of bikes that I wanted to 'mend', but could not take apart because of faults in the design - but that is not the case here??? Never mind, t hanks again, Jane ps. this is the photo where I put some stars in the left upper corner. Here in The Netherlands the stars are for the most part behind the fog or hardly visible because of light pollution.

I could make parts of a photo transparent by using the eraser tool, by changing opacity and flow of the brush. So far so good. But. Maybe someone here is able to explain the most simple thing - I would think - , that is making a gradient from one part to another, say no transparency left and 100% transparency right. On the right side I should see the underlying layer. I think I accomplished this ONE single time, in a simple way, but how? I found several - to say the least - explanations, on YouTube, in text (which I prefer), all different and all very confusing. Maybe I should search here, again, but I am getting annoyed. Like my biology students when I did not explain things in the right way. Just One Clear and Simple Explanation. Anybody here? Thanks a lot, let's start with that!!

Okay, I must have changed something somewhere to these default settings, that is clear. When and how, I don't know really. Maybe it happened when updating LR to 9.1, I noticed that some things were changed and I had to point out to the new version where it could find my catalog. Never mind, it's okay now. Thanks again!

Thanks Richard, for your comprehensive answer, I am sure that that will help. But I am still wondering why this happens with photos of the last week or so, and why photos from some time back will reset to auto tone zeros without a glitch. Now I have to put all the sliders, one at a time, to zero (I made a preset for that). And why does import with develop settings to 'none' auto tone en presence the imported photos? Is there a reason for that? Did I change something there? I still don't get it. But I will surely get into your suggestions and find out what's going on with 'Reset' with alt and control. Thanks again, and try to stop Boris from leaving us (you are from London, I presume?), we are not happy with that.... 😉 Hans, Utrecht, the Netherlands

Thanks David, no, I don't, no develop presets. Nevertheless 'auto tone' and 'auto presence'. Made a preset 'zero tone & presence' for the moment. Hans

When importing my raw photos in LR classic (9.1), LR applies auto (tone) automatically. I used to be able to set all tone sliders to zero by double clicking 'tone', or by alt & reset tone. It still works in older photos; but not anymore. I think this started just a few days ago. The same goes for 'presence' Importing photos with no develop settings does auto tone too. Reset, right bottom corner, does not reset tone, but it does reset white balance. Strange, this. Do I make a mistake? Should I change something in Pref's? Is it a bug? Hope someone knows, thanks for listening .... I read a post about this (more or less) that suggested that the double click speed should be changed, but, as I said, everything works normal in older photos

After moving my system and Lightroom to a new motherboard, when pressing 'print' LR says 'could not start print job'. When I press 'Printer ...' and OK, everything goes well. Meanwhile LR thinks that there are two print jobs, while my printer knows it is only one. When closing LR it says or asks: 'Quit Lightroom? This will end the job it is preparing' I hope somebody here knows how to solve this, Hans van den Berg, Vleuten, The Netherlands

I understand. It does not help, though. If only, if only....., the stupid white circle could be shown somewhere in a corner of the photo....

Some years ago I used Photoshop Elements. One of the functions I liked was like this. I could transform a photo/canvas, i.e. make it a square, but leave parts of it, objects in the photo, as they were, undistorted. I could 'paint' a part of the photo green or red to indicate what would happen with it. I could move persons closer to each other without distorting them. I cannot find a function like this in the newest photoshop. I tried to do this with the content aware move tool, but that didn't work. I would, for example, like to move the snails more together, but I cannot find an easy way to do this. Thanks, Hans

I am sorry, but storing the photos locally doesn't seem to help. Every photo takes some time to show the white circle. That is, when showing them piece by piece. Strangely enough, in the presentation the circle is hardly visible. But I have not found the option to show each photo longer than about a second. By the way, you merged my two problems into one, my message was not clear about this, sorry. Apart from that, storing the photo's locally is a problem too, because LR cc won't store on the sd card of my Samsung tablet. This is also discussed heavily on the internet, to no avail. Shall we call this, uh, those problems bugs? They feel like it, really.

Yes, I suppose is it trying to get the picture on board. But why it should show this twice, and the white circle in the very centre of the photo, is beyond my understanding. It should be nowhere, or maybe in a corner ... I have some photo's 'stored locally', but that's, as far as I tried, also quite a task, since you have to select the photo's piece by piece, and if you select more than 15 it says that it should be less than 15. This helps for the circle, but not, as far as I could see, for the presentation. Thanks anyway!

I suppose that others here had questions about the stupid circle. On other forums I saw that people from Adobe said that this was necessary because you wanted to know when you could begin editing. But I often use cc to show people my photos. We don't need this thing. Furthermore, there is also the blue circling thing. They do the same, it seems. Am I missing something, or is the Lightroom team missing something? Please let me know how to get rid of this! Another question is about presentations. I cannot discover how to lengthen the to time each photo is shown. Now it is too short for normal people. Thanks, Hans

This happens when the photo size and the print size are not the same. Look at Page Setup and check. Take care that in the printer driver 'main' preview before printing is chosen, so you can check before printing. Sometimes this did not help (I know about this problem), than you should start LR again AND (more important maybe) remove all prints from printer (cancel document(s))

I am really at a loss with making a simple web gallery. I have tried several Wordpress galleries, but everywhere there are problems that I don't want to solve, really. Adjusting the image size, for example. When I try to use a Lightroom web gallery, everything seems fine, but I don't seem to be able to make more than one gallery, instead of more galleries with photo's for different theme's. I just noticed that I can make more series, but they appear as simple folder names, which is of course ugly. What do I wrong or are the possibilities of the Adobe Web Galleries so limited?
