Fair enough. I set the images to 300dpi in photoshop before bringing them in to illustrator, however, I needed to stretch the photos to make them fit into my design. Therefore they would be less than 300dpi. Would it make a difference if, when I saved as PDF, that I unticked the box to make it editable in illustrator? Sent from my iPhone

Hey Monika, thanks for replying. I did intend to use a PDF however the final document is quite large (over 20,000 pixels ). Even though I saved it as 300 DPI the website I need to upload it to says it’s too low res. I’m assuming it’s because the images, although large, are less than 300 DPI when exported. I’m not sure if I’ve made myself clear enough. Even so, do you have any idea why these issues are happening when exporting to jpeg? Or perhaps you can suggest a better way to export to PDF. I’m open to all suggestions. I appreciate your help. Sent from my iPhone

Hey everyone on the forum. I'm turning here as I cannot find an answer to my problem. I'm creating an image that is going to be printed as a pull-up banner so needs to be in CMYK and 300 dpi. I created the image in Illustrator...no problems...however, when I export it as a high res JPEG it adds extra parts to the image. The photo below should show this clearly. I cannot understand why this is happening. Perhaps it's a bug? The image on the left is how it appears in Illustrator and the image on the right what it looks like after being exported. Please help! (Since the banner has student photos I blurred them for privacy reasons).
