I purchaseds the Adobe Photography (20gb) plan through Adorama. I've updated the payment method to a credit card. However, when doing a clean install on a new Mac, I still get a pop-up window in either Lr or PS the first time their launched with an advisory to update the payment method (even though it HAS been updated). This causes Lr or PS to crash. Any thoughts on a workaround in case I have to do a clean install again?

I’m coming back to the Adobe Photography Program after a couple of years using Capture One. As I recall, there were some minor differences between the Panorama options between LrC and Lr (Spherical, Cylindrical and Perspective). Namely Perspective didn’t always work well on Lr. True? I’m trying to decide which version of Lightroom to go with.

I know Lightroom (Desktop) does not have renaming capabilities. If I use batch rename in macOS finder, will those changes cause issues in Lightroom (Desktop)?

Kind of a general question - it seems Lightroom Classic seems to consume/hold more resources than Lightroom (desktop version). i.e. Lightroom (desktop) just seems to be more efficient with system resources and crash less. Could that be because Lightroom (desktop) is based on the same coding that is used for Lightroom for iPad/iPhone?

What would be the best way to sync a Lightroom (desktop) catalog on one computer (13" MBA) to my main laptop (15" MBA) - also running Lightroom (desktop)? I use the 13" when traveliing.

When accessing just the Cloud tab, I am regularly receiving a "An unknown error has occurred" message. This occurs on both my 13" and 15" MacBook Airs - running the latest version of macOS Sonoma. The 13" has 8GB of RAM and the 15" has 16GB. Both 1TB SSD's.

The first thing to check is to see if your Mac can run macOS Ventura or macOS Sonoma. If they can, and you've got the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan (NOT Lightroom 6 or PS CS6), there sholdn't be any sort of confilct. If there is, you should be able to roll back. JMHO - if you're still running an Intel-based Mac, start thinking about upgrading to a M3 or M2 Mac.

Glad to hear you got this resolved. This is one of the reasons I have a love/hate relationship with Adobe's products. When something goes wrong, it takes this sort of effort to fix the problems.

I know installing Rosetta 2 will "fix" this. Howver it's simply a band-aid fix Some of us don't want to instll Rosetta 2 because 2 tcan cause it's own problems.

Just my personal opinion - this is an Adobe problem, not an Apple problem. Apple released the first M1 Mac in November 2020.

This isn't an Apple issue. It's a bad coding and quality control problem that Adobe created. I'm no fan of class action lawsuits. Only the liars… I mean lawyers win It's well-known within the software development community that Lua tends to be a bit of a resource, pig and problematic when it comes to software development. Just my personal opinion Dash I think it's time for Adobe to look to a more current coding platform for all of their products.

@CShubert - I'm getting the feeling that Adobe isn't going to fix this anytime soon. There's a lot of Apple Silicon users - like me - that are thinking it's time to dump Adobe because of their continued coding problems. Part of the problem is Adobe's use of Lua IMHO. I wonder if a class action lawsuit might wake Adobe up.

@CShubert I ran into the same issue. 'course - i'm not jazzed to have to install Rosetta 2 to get PS to work correctly. I'll hold off on installing PS for now. Hopefully Adobe can squash this embarrassing bug quickly.

Runing the latest version of Adobe CC on a 2021 M1 Pro 14" MBP. After doing a clean install, of everything, when i open an image in Photoshop (either from LrC or directly in Photoshop) and go to Neural Filters, it shows "Neural Filters Loading" and a spinning ball, but they never load.

I did a quick search and Luminar Neo doen't appear to support Lightroom 6. Add in, Adobe no longer sulpports Lightroom 6 or older versions of Photoshop. Best recommendation - it's probably time to either sign up for the Creative Cloud Photograph Plan or dump Lightroom 6 all together and just use Luminar Neo.

The latest version of Lighroom Classic (11.3.1) is very unstable. It regularly crashs upon closing the program jusrt for me (runnin a 2021 14" MBP). Part of the issue is the programing language that Adobe uses (Lua) and (IMHO) part that some of the apps/applets that Creative Clod (misspelled purposely) installs are still Intel-based and rely upon Rosetta 2. It just seems mixing Intel and Apple Silicon apps by Adobe just don't play well together.

Given the issues/crashes I've run into are all relatesd to Adobe app's that are Intel baseed... It's also possibility an issue related to Adobe's use of Lua and/or their poor QC.

That's correct - I'm done with Adobe until all their apps, installers, all of the added stuff that need Rosetta 2 are coded to Universal. I've run into enough issues (system freezes, crashes, etc.) related to Rosetta 2. It's been almost two years since Apple announced moving to Apple Silicon. Most other developments have ported their apps to Universal. There's no reason Adobe can't move everything to Universal.

Radoan What you're seeing is a known isssue. LrC and Photoshop are memory pigs...period. While there are some memory leak concerns with macOS Monterey, the bigger issue is how much memory that PS and LrC utilize, From a developer friend, part of the issue is the coding program (Lua) that Adobe uses. Another issue may be that some of Adobe's applets are still written for Intel and use Rosetta 2. It's in Adobe's court to fix - and they are aware of the issues.

Rosetta 2 was meant to be a stop-gao whilke developers reode their apps to Uniersal Binary. I could also ask - why is Aeobe taking so long to update the Creative Cloud apps to Universl?? Is it bvedause of Lua - the coding software Aeobe uses?

I'm aware that most of the apps in the Creative Cloud app are coded to Universal (Lightroom/LrC, Photoshop, etc.) That's not the issue I'm raising. The issue is the Creative Cloud INSTALLER still requires Rosetta 2.
