Hello @Shebbe these are all really excellent suggestions for building robust tools in an efficient workflow, thank you!
This particular update to the Iris Transitions was specifically to get them GPU accelerated while also maintaining backwards compatibility. I'll share these ideas with the team, and encourage you to repost it in the Feature Requests forum. It will get greater visibility there.
Best,
Eric

Yes, that shadow behind the text can be disabled as well.
With regards to your question, "... can you at least start a thread with a survey on what people want to be added in the future versions of Premiere Pro and gradually implement those features?" That is the purpose of this forum. I appreciate the time you have taken to call out the effects above that you found useful in your day-to-day work as an editor, and that you now miss. I will communicate this vital feedback to the team as we continue to do the work to improve features and add functionality that doesn't slow down performance.

Hello Scott! XML is currently a far more robust interchange format than OTIO, so it makes sense that you're getting better results there. The consortium that is setting the OTIO standards is still very much in the early stages of building a more robust and performant standard. These are the early days of OTIO, please keep telling us what you want to see. I will convey the message! Best,

Premiere Pro Beta has support for Open Timeline IO interchage format (OTIO). Our current implementation includes the basic information for interchange with other products that support the OTIO standard:
names
cutlist with clips at correct place in sequence
source in/out
durations
starting timecode and timecode formats
fps
multiple tracks
track names
linear speed
sequence markers (start time, duration, name, color)
Premiere Pro's OTIO support includes Premiere round-tripping information as well:
clip markers (start time, duration, comments, name, color).
Seqence frame size
Sequence sample rate
When importing OTIO files created outside of Premiere Pro, some sequence settings may not transfer automatically and will require manual adjustment.
To export a sequence to OTIO, go to File menu/Export/OpenTimelineIO.
To import an OTIO sequence, go to File menu/Import or use the Media Browser.
Please give OTIO Import and Export a try and let us know what kind of workflows you want to use this for. Let us know what we are missing.

Hello AndrewTheGreat, One way to create an inner shadow on text is to create a base layer of text without any shadows on a lower track. Then copy and paste that Text Item in the track above. Change the settings of the upper text item so that it is drop shadow only. It looks like this:
Is this the kind of text effect you're going for?
I understand the frustration with the removal of the Bevel Alpha effect. We approached this change, and all of the Obsolete Effects and Tranistions cautiously, starting with moving older effects to the Obsolete folder, then restricting their use in new projects but keeping them available in existing ones, before eventually removing them. We haven't set a specific date for complete removal yet, but it will be at least a year away. Any of your previous projects created before 24.6 will have these effects still available in the timeline, applied to your clips.
The Bevel Alpha effect, like several other removed effects, wasn't GPU-accelerated and could lead to significant performance issues. These effects caused a slowdown, especially during export, since they ran on the CPU and could force other GPU-optimized effects to also run on the CPU. We understand that performance improvements don't matter as much to you if you rely on this particular effect, and it can be frustrating to feel left without an equivalent option.
Our goal with these changes is to optimize Premiere Pro overall, improving the speed and efficiency of the product for the majority of users. We recognize that this doesn’t lessen the impact if you relied on the removed effects. The team is working to upgrade other effects so that they run on the GPU; since 2022, we’ve upgraded 19 effects, including two more with the release of v25.
We value your feedback, and we want to continue to improve Premiere Pro based on what you need. So, we proceed carefully, provide plenty of notice via the beta program, listen to customer feedback, and change course if we’ve made a mistake. If there is a specific way one our features would work better, more performantly for you, suggest it! How can we improve the Text Tool to make it faster and easier for you to get your work done? Please keep sharing your thoughts, and I’ll make sure they reach the right people on the team. I’m here to answer any further questions you have.
Thanks again for being part of the conversation.
Best, Eric

Remote Index, are you asking for more clarity on what scene referred image data is? This isn't something created by Adobe, it's a common data type in imaging for the last twenty years. Are you wanting an explanation/ definition for each of the color spaces available in the "Override Media Color Space" pulldown menu?
I'm unclear on what your question is. Eric

"Scene", in this context, means scene referred image data, which is image data that closely represents the original scene, without limiting color or dynamic range. Best,

Hello Neil,
The obsolete channel mixer in Premiere Pro was a limited, non-performant legacy plug-in. I have found that using the performant, 32-bit channel mixer in After Effects a much better alternative when I specifically need to do a specific channel mixing operation. I have also found that using Lumetri curves, in combination with the new RGBA channel viewer in Premiere Pro's sequence monitor, a very powerful and accurate way to do per-channel color operations.
As for the obsolete noise effects, again, those were non-performant effects when compared to the existing GPU-enabled Noise effect an all the other powerful and performant 3rd party noise plug-ins available (I'm a big fan of RedGiant's Renoiser).

Eric

There isn't any plan, currently, to replace the obsolete radial wipe transition with something. Have you had a chance to look through third party plug-ins? Or have you tried creating your own matte wipe effect in After Effects that you could use as a real-time radial wipe alternative? Eric

Now in Premiere Pro beta, the Obsolete Effects folder and plug-ins, Obsolete Transitions folder and plug-ins, and presets built from the obsolete effects are removed.
These effects and transitions all have faster, modern alternatives either in Premiere Pro, or offered by third parties. Their current usage is extremely low but represent an outsized percentage of project slowdowns and performance bottlenecks. Please see the table below for suggested alternatives.
CAN I OPEN OLDER PROJECTS THAT HAVE OBSOLETE EFFECTS & TRANSITIONS IN 24.6?
Yes. You can open projects made in a previous versions of Premiere Pro that contain the removed obsolete effects and transitions. The effects and transitions will still appear in your sequences, and in the Effects Control Panel on the clips they’ve been applied to, but the Obsolete Effects folder, Obsolete Transitions folder and four Presets folders – Bevel Edges, Solarize, Convolution Kernel and Blurs (Win Only) will not be accessible in the Project Panel.
You can copy and paste your applied obsolete effects and transitions between clips and sequences in your project and continue working with them on new clips and in new sequences you create.
What you can't do is create a new project and access the removed effects, transitions and presets.
PRESETS FOLDERS
The Bevel Edges, Solarize, Convolution Kernel and Blurs (WIN only) folders and effects presets in the Presets folder are removed. Those presets are built from removed obsolete effects. However, if you have applied those presets in your older projects, they will still be visible, active and available on the sequence and in the Effects Control Panel.
CUSTOM PRESETS
Any custom presets you have created and saved in a previous version may be effected if it contains at least one obsolete effect in the chain of effects. Here is what that means for the possible combination of non-obsolete and obsolete effects in a custom preset:
If custom preset contains one or more non-obsolete: REMAINS
If a custom preset contains a mix of obsolete and non-obsolete effects: REMAINS
If custom preset contains a single or mix of ONLY obsolete effects: REMOVED
We are encouraging everyone to start using modern, high-performance effects and transitions for a faster, more efficient experience when working in Premiere Pro.
In addition to all the great, modern alternatives to the obsolete effects and transitions within Premiere Pro's tool set, there is an extraordinarily robust and vibrant ecosystem of modern and perfromant third party effects, transitions and filters

Hello Cogitare,
This is a known issue with Warp Stabilizer when applying a Lumetri color space transform BEFORE running Warp Stabilizer. However, if you run Warp Stabilizer first, then apply the transformation, you won't get the slow down.
The order of operations is: 1. Drop Rec 2100 PQ (or HLG) clip on to timeline.
2. Set Timeline Working Color Space to Rec 2100 PQ (or HLG) -- just make sure it matches the clip.
3. Apply Warp Stabilizer (make your tweaks and final adjustments
4. Change Timeline Working Color Space to Rec 709, enable Auto Tone Map Media
Warp Stabilizer's analyze phase is CPU-only, while Lumetri's color transform is GPU-enabled. If the color transform is applied before Warp Stabilizer is run, then it pushes Lumetri on to the CPU which is why you're seeing the dramatic decrease in performance.
Please let me know if this helps, or if I can provide any more support here.
Eric

Update: This feature was released with version v24.4 of Adobe's video products. If you have questions or comments, please post them in the main Premiere Pro forum. Thank you for your feedback during the beta!
Premiere Pro Beta now has Automatic Detection and Interpretation of iPhone ProRes Log Video.
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have a new ProRes Log Video recording option. This allows iPhone users to record in a high quality, 10-bit format that retains the maximum amount of latitude and detail.
This professional video format on the iPhone is an exciting new development in the world of filmmaking. Adobe Premiere Pro is committed to not just supporting it via the existing LUT-based workflow, but also offering a dynamic, LUT-free automated solution using our color management system.
Simply enable Auto Detect Log Video Color Space and drop an iPhone ProRes Log original camera media clip into a Rec 709 timeline.
Lumetri Settings will show that the clip’s Media Color Space is set to “Apple Log/ Rec 2020” and the clip will have an automatic tone map applied using the “ByChannel (good for log video)” method.
There is no need to apply a LUT to the clip. Premiere Pro’s automated color management system will dynamically map the log video values to the Rec 709 or HLG/ PQ video color spaces, preserving the highlights and shadows of the clip.
If you prefer to use your own LUT with Apple Log footage, you can easily disable the auto detect log functionality or override the clip's color space to Rec 709. Either of these options will allow you to apply a LUT to transform your footage from log to the color space of your choice.
Please let us know what you think, how it’s working for you, and any improvements.

Hello PG73, thanks for updating me with your hardware specs. And I wanted to clarify, OCIO is a way to get consistent color between post-production applications, however it is currently not supported by Premiere Pro. So the workflow I shared with you is not recommended. That said, I have personally used the OCIO engine and achieved color consistency when working with HDR files on HDR capable displays but that is not a consistent path for all projects. So my suggestion to use OCIO may not be the right one for you.
If you are able to share the clip in your screengrab, I'd be interested in reproducing the color shift on my end and see if I can come up with a solution to keep you moving.
Best,
Eric

What kind of computer display are you on?
I put my iPhone HDR footage (not ProRes Log, right?) on a Rec 2100 HLG timeline in Premiere, and Dynamic Link that to After Effects with the settings I shared, the color values are identical.
I'm on a MacBook Pro M1 Max, and it's a true HDR display, so I set my display color space to HLG 2100 in the OCIO engine control. When I compare my pixel color values using the Digital Color Meter they match.
Can you share with me your hardware details?

Hello PG73, Premiere and After Effects color management can definitely be a little tricky, especially when it comes to working in the wild ends of HDR. Have you had a chance to try out our OCIO color engine in After Effects?
It was built specifically to make hand offs between After Effects and other post-production appa easier and more accurate. (*edit, however OCIO is not currently supported in Premiere Pro)
Try the following settings in After Effects and see if it solves the color shift issue?
Please let me know if it works or not.

Jarle, I totally hear you. And yes, Premiere currently has a limitation with a lack of a copy/ paste-all function for custom tonemapping in a Lumetri instance. I will follow up with the team to find a solution.
Thanks for bringing it up, it is frustrating to have to manually set those values. For now, the alternative is turn off auto log detection/ tonemapping, and create a custom LUT that transform your log footage to rec709 in the way you need it to.
