Thank you for your initial response. I have pasted the specifications below. I'm not convinced it's a hardware issue as I didn't have this in the previous version of Lightroom. I always have the catalogue created new against a new job. It is often in the same folder as the images. Please give me any guidance. I would preferably disable the ‘quick’ photo browsing option in favour of a full image load.

The update to Adobe Lightroom 14.0.0 has made it almost impossible for me to work effectively. When making adjustments to edited photos in the Develop module, the image loads first, followed by the sharpness! It’s painful to watch. It feels like image loading now happens in three stages: A preview that isn’t very useful. The sharpness of the image. The application of adjustments such as exposure, shadows, whites, blacks, etc., in relation to the previous image. With all due respect, this is no way to work. When editing wedding photos, for example, I might have 800 images to finalize. After just 100, my eyes are exhausted. The sharpness shouldn’t appear after the image itself! And the colors should load immediately as well… I have to wait an extra second after opening an image to get the correct sharpness and colors. You will cause a visual defect in people on a global scale. Please fix this. By the way, version 14 performs significantly worse than version 13. It freezes more often, masks work much slower, and selecting images in the Library module is sluggish. Everything is pushing users to switch to other programs for selection and editing. Is Adobe really trying to drive users away from Lightroom?

I haven't tried another mouse. I have only tried changing images using the keyboard (arrows) as well as the mouse. The same thing happens, i.e. every now and then there is the phenomenon of multiple photos scrolling instead of one. Do you think a mouse from another company than Razer is worth checking out?

While in the Library, when selecting photos, if I click the arrow to move to the next photo, sometimes the 'held button' effect appears, and it skips forward by several dozen photos. Of course, the button isn’t actually being held down. I’ve also tested switching photos using other buttons, even those on the mouse. Unfortunately, it's not a keyboard/mouse issue, but rather a Lightroom problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I've never experienced this before, and it’s been happening for about a week now. If it helps, both my mouse and keyboard are from Razer. I have the latest version of Lightroom Classic.

After the update, the arrow keys on the keyboard no longer work for changing to the next photo in the Develop tab. I also have a shortcut on my mouse for changing photos, and it doesn't work either. I don't know what has changed, but please let me know how to fix this. It's making photo editing very difficult. I've been using the program for many years, and I've never encountered this issue before.

Thank you for your response. The directory location is variable. For each new reportage, I create a new directory. I have three drives (2x SSD, 1x NVMe) - I've tested all of them and Lightroom was similarly slow on each. The same applies to disk space. Currently, I have roughly half of the space free, and in the middle of the season, I worked on really full disks - I didn't notice much of a difference. Regarding overclocking, the only place I adjusted GPU parameters was in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. As for the CPU, I have the recommended 'kombo strike 3' enabled in BIOS, XMP profile, and nothing else. I should note that I don't work daily with a boosted GPU. I only did it for testing purposes. Face detection, location, addresses are all turned off. I'm sending the information you requested: Lightroom Classic version: 13.1 [ 202312111226-41a494e8 ]

I spend most of my day in LR, and it's very frustrating when it freezes. I'm talking about overall performance - transitioning between photos, copying settings between them, working on masks. Some of these actions can force me to reset the program because nothing else can be done, and unfortunately, slow performance is the norm. Optimizing catalogs doesn't help, neither does resetting preferences. The program runs with a high GPU priority, and I've allocated 100GB for CACHE memory. I even tried overclocking the GPU and CPU, but it's pointless because, except for exporting and noise reduction, the GPU is only used at 2-3% during normal work, and the CPU never goes beyond 20-30%. Currently, I have: XFX RX6950 XT, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB of RAM (3200MHz CL16) I'm considering switching to: RTX 4090, Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32/64GB of RAM (6000MHz CL30) But does it make sense? What are your recent experiences with performance? Are there any more ideas on how I can make the programme more efficient?

Thank you @ouiouiphoto, that's exactly the effect I'm after! However, I find it most bothersome when comparing the photos one by one. As a wedding photographer, I have processed 500 photos and I'm examining whether the material is consistent. As I move on to the next photo, I focus my gaze to compare and... my eyes bleed.

1. Work on a catalogue with lots of photos 2. Ensure that the photos viewed in the Develop tab are processed 3. When switching photos, you should see a loading symbol in the right corner underneath the photo - when the symbol is visible, colour loading is in progress I will send a video if necessary

The question then is whether, since this effect didn't exist before and it was better, does it have to be now? 🤔

I will make an effort to assist you. The delay in loading colors primarily manifests in the Develop tab. Previously, there was indeed a delay, but it was related to the photo itself rather than the loading of colors. This was tolerable. However, the current issue involves a delay in loading the accurate colors and settings for the photo. This is difficult to accept, especially when making final adjustments for a photo-by-photo comparison in a reportage. The absence of loaded colors immediately alters the perception of the image. Such an occurrence was not present before upgrading to Lightroom 13. I am operating on a PC with Windows 11. If you require any information regarding the hardware, please let me know.

This is exactly the point. When looking through 600 photos one after the other it distorts the view a lot. In fact, my eyes are unable to look at it and get tired much faster. It's very annoying. Is anyone able to help?

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, my problem is primarily with the already created directories. I am a wedding photographer and I select everything on the fly - I also give away the trailer. I currently have about 25 created directories where this problem occurs. Is it possible to apply these settings to already created catalogs? Before upgrading Lightroom to version 13, this problem did not occur and everything displayed instantly. Now with each photo I have to wait about 0.5-1 sec for it to update to the color scheme I applied to the photo. This greatly distorts the perception of the photo making adjustments photo by photo.

Since the latest version of Lightroom 3.0, it has been introduced that a photo loads faster than its actual colour. Sometimes I have to wait a second after opening a photo to get the correct colouring. This is very annoying as it's hard to focus on comparing the photo against the previous one. Is it possible to turn this off somehow? I would prefer to wait even a second for a photo to appear already with the correct colour scheme rather than initially having to preview a false version.

Thank you for your time. I've checked everything and find that simply Lightroom is not working efficiently. I have it set to 'Use Graphics Processor to Use GPU For Display'. My Lr never takes more than 8 GB of memory and even though I have 32 GB of it, it stutters. The CPU is not used more than 40% powerfully. The graphics card is mainly loaded when exporting. When processing photos it is mostly less than 3-5%. I don't feel it should be the fault of my hardware 😞 Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

For a few days now, every time I use Photoshop, a 'gude' file is created for me. Is this some kind of bug? It is very annoying how every day such files are created. Maybe this is indicative of a bug that needs to be fixed? Here is the content: 13:55:24:832 [ALWAYS] GUDE Logging Started

Forgive me for the lack of response, but I have been testing various possibilities on subsequent orders. @dj_paige- Face detection, Address Lookup and cloud sync are always off. I have the latest GPU driver because I use AMD Software, where I update the card as soon as a new driver comes out. I don't think antivirus is the problem here either, although I have no idea what. I've also been peeking at my computer's component usage. When working in Adobe, the CPU is used up to 20% and the GPU is used up to 30% (running most when exporting). So what could the problem be? @johnrellis - I have disabled detecting people, that's a good point, thank you. This makes the masks open faster, however I still notice problems. Mostly the program slows down when: - I open a photo to which I have synchronised settings from another photo, - I open masks where several are used, e.g. 2-3 gradients/brushes, - the longer I work in the program the more it slows down. After 2-3 hours of work, the best solution is to restart the program. Then it starts to run faster again. The stuttering of Adobe LR is really annoying. I usually have about 600 photos in Quick Collection and about 2500 in the catalogue. If the programme freezes for 3-15 seconds while halfway through, it is really slowing down. The last time I wanted to export photos, for example, the program crashed like this (nothing could be done and the export didn't work):

I've never written an opinion here, but the current performance of Adobe Lightroom Classic has forced me to do so.
I ask for urgent support, because my program is running below all criticism. Every time I click 'Masking' the program loads. It often takes from 3 to even 15 seconds. Still the 'detecting people' runs automatically, how to turn it off? It really slows down the operation.
In addition, the program just stutters frequently. When I change monitors, when I export something, when I sync settings between one photo and another I get 'no response'.
I recently changed my graphics card to the RX 6950 XT and my processor to the Ryzen 7 3800X3D. I have updated Windows to version 11, Adobe I update regularly and have the latest versions. I have 32 GB of RAM. I have smart memory access enabled in the BIOS and Kombo Strike 3 recommended.
What can I do more to make Lightroom run more efficiently? I have been doing photography for many years and it has never been this bad.
I will send logs or send more information if needed.
I will appreciate any help.
