Hi @Steen35828003rvme,
I'm sorry to hear that the previous suggestions didn't help. Are you encountering any specific errors? Also, could you please confirm if you’re using the latest driver? You can check for updates here: https://adobe.ly/3SNkooT.
As Sameer requested, it would be great if you could share your system information. This will help us better understand the issue you’re facing. If you're unable to do so, please let me know.
Thank you!

Hey @Wolfgang25165601a75l, I'm really sorry I missed that you'd already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both pieces of software, and for the delay in getting back to you. I took another look at your post, and I think the next step is to check Photoshop’s permissions. Here’s how you can do that:
Photoshop: https://adobe.ly/3FzQbqz
Lightroom/Lightroom Classic: https://adobe.ly/43XvFYK

@Terri27425864qpfx, I wanted to follow up on @AxelMatt request. As @johnrellis mentioned, this is the best way to see exactly which versions of hardware, software, and drives your system is running. If you prefer not to post this information here, please feel free to copy and paste everything into a text file and send it to me directly via PM. We're here to help; we just need a bit more information. ^CM

Hey @Memphis3605,
Hi there, and welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community! It sounds like you might need to relink your images, but I don’t want to assume too much just yet. Could you share a bit more about what you’re seeing? It would also be super helpful if you could include your system info. You can find it by going to Help > System Info in Lightroom Classic, then copying and pasting that into a text file and attaching it here. If you can, please include a screenshot of the issue, too—it really helps us see what’s going on.
In the meantime, here’s an article that might point you in the right direction: https://adobe.ly/4mS9bRV
Looking forward to hearing more so we can get this sorted!

Hey @Alton700, This doesn't seem to be a bug, but is related to how Lightroom handles previews. Low-res or pixelated images usually happen because Lightroom shows Smart Previews or smaller previews by default, especially for older photos.
To fix this, try rebuilding your previews (Library > Previews > Build Standard or 1:1 Previews), enabling GPU acceleration in Preferences > Performance, and, if needed, clearing the preview cache and optimizing your catalog.
Since this is expected behavior, I’m moving the thread to Discussions for more community input. Thanks for understanding!

I'm really glad you managed to resolve the issue on your own and also provided us with an update! This will be helpful for others who may encounter the same issue. I’ll rename the thread to make it easier for others to find.

Hey @elsv37582160, Thank you for sharing the information I requested; this helps. It appears that your driver is outdated. Please try updating it and let me know if that resolves the issue. You can download the newest driver directly from AMD’s official website here: https://adobe.ly/43HVNah I attempted to reproduce the problem using your settings, but I was unable to do so.
^CM Edit: I've also updated the title as requested. 🙂

Hey @geherman, Sorry to hear you're still running into this issue. It sounds like you're trying to disable the Topaz Plugin? To test out if that is the reason you're unable to denoise B&W images? Here is a walk-through on how to do that: https://adobe.ly/4kM5QC1 I also downloaded the file shared earlier in the thread and was able to apply Denoise, so I was unable to reproduce this issue. Let us know if disabling Topaz helps. ^CM

Hey @Five0Guy, Thank you @LAMY2017 for your help, and you're correct, Photoshop CC2018 is no longer available for download through Creative Cloud. Adobe only provides access to the two most recent major versions of its apps (more info here).

Hey @Claudio_61RAVITA,
Lightroom Classic should work offline without issues. If it crashes when offline, it might be a sign-in or licensing problem. Make sure you’re signed into the Creative Cloud app and have “Stay signed in” checked. Try logging out, rebooting, and logging back in while online before launching Lightroom again. If the issue persists, consider reinstalling the Creative Cloud app. Also, please share your system info (Help > System Info) in a text file so we can investigate further.

Hey @OriginalKillboy,
Sorry for the delay in my response. We’re still unable to reproduce the issue on our end, but we wanted to rule out a few things that might be contributing:
Check your GPU drivers — especially your AMD driver. It looks like that one hasn’t been updated in quite a while (about 45 months). You can grab the latest here: AMD Driver Download
Using the Creative Cloud Desktop app, ensure that Photoshop, Bridge, and Camera Raw are all up to date.
Try closing Bridge. After reviewing the video again, one of my teammates noticed Bridge was the active application when the issue occurred. It might be worth testing without it open.
Let us know if this helps.

Hey @Cecy_Lobatoo,
Hey! Just a heads-up — you’re commenting on an older thread, so your post might’ve slipped under the radar. In the future, it’s best to create a new post with all the details about your issue and system so we can jump on it faster.
For this issue, could you please share your system info? You can find it by going to Help > System Info in the app. Copy and paste that into a text file and attach it here — it’ll help us better understand what might be going on. Thanks!

Hey @antonioi21376345,
We haven’t been able to reproduce this on our end just yet, so I’m going to move this back over to Discussions for now—this way, more folks can take a look and chime in.
In the meantime, could you help us out by sharing a bit more info?
Go to Help > System Info, copy and paste that into a text file, and attach it to your response.
If possible, a step-by-step of how you’re running into the issue—or even a quick screen recording—would go a long way in helping us understand what’s going on.
Thanks again for flagging this!

Hey @aleksandar_mk,
Thanks for reaching out! Even if you’re opening a simple image, Photoshop may treat it as a Smart Object in some cases, which can cause this error. Please try these troubleshooting steps out: 1. Check the Layers panel: If the layer has a Smart Object icon, right-click it and select “Rasterize Layer”, then try Image > Image Size again.
2. Reset Photoshop preferences: Go to Edit > Preferences > General and click “Reset Preferences on Quit.” Restart Photoshop afterward 3. Test with a different file: Open a plain JPEG or PNG to see if the issue persists.
If the problem continues, feel free to share a sample file or screen recording so we can assist further.

Hey @darrellc48914058,
Thanks for sharing the basic details and a clear description of what’s going on.
It’s definitely strange for things to suddenly stop working after they’ve been fine—let’s try a few things that might help:
First, check that your external drive is still mounted with the same drive letter Lightroom Classic expects. If the letter changed, LrC won’t be able to find those folders.
In the Folders panel, right-click any missing folders and choose “Find Missing Folder” to reconnect them.
For the missing previews during import, try resetting LrC’s preferences. You can do this by holding Shift + Alt while launching Lightroom Classic and confirming the reset prompt.
Could you also share your full system info? You can grab that by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it to your reply. We’ll get to the bottom of this!
