@EckiAME,
Thanks for the confirmation. As I noted earlier, the link from AME (and PR) Export settings to QuVIS for "additional DCP tools" works, but their web page is not working.
My quick test with DCP-o-matic worked.

@franklinpoole,
You're looking at the relatively newer PR "modes" (Import, Edit, Export). When you go to the PR Export mode, you see a new look to the Export Settings, and the "Destinations" are on the left.
In Media Encoder, you see the old style Export Settings, and the "Publish" tab is where the destinations are.
To get to the Export Settings in AME, click on the format or preset link in the item in the queue list. Screenshots below.

No idea if this changed at some point. But click on the queue to go into the Export Settings for that item. Pick the Publish tab.
A tutorial from 2022 shows it the same way.

What version are you running? Do you get any errors in PR before the crash. Use Window -> Events.
There was a bug, fixed in the latest versions.....

@NO-ID2815921779ke,
I think you are raising 3 issues. Mike addresses the first, which is searcing for words that can occur in other words, and he points to the easiest fix. Very sophisticated searches are also possible using Regex. I confirmed today it is still working in PR 25.3. This post gives an example for finding either of 2 words:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/text-based-editing-multiple-words-search/m-p/15098395#M549539
> the text feature automatically jumps in the timeline before you can copy and paste the clip you just cut out and you can no longer search for that word as premiere doesn't recognise it anymore as you've cut into it.
I'm not sure what you're work flow is. I wonder if you can use the feature of adding markers in the text panel so you can get back to a location. Or mark the in/out for the section you want to insert (?in another sequence?) instead of copy paste.
> if you leave a word in the text box and switch to another sequence, after a bit of lag it automatically jumps in the timeline if that word is already present in the new sequence, so you lose your place and have to hunt for where you just were in the timeline.
This can be problematic and frustrating. See this post in a thread discussing the issue. I have no tested in PR 25.3, but I believe it was improved.
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/text-searches-persist-across-sequences-and-clips-causing-unexpected-jumps-around-timeline/idc-p/14716831#M30213
That thread does not discuss whether "selection follows playhead," and I don't recall if it had any effect.

What Mike said....
I'm curious about the metadata in particular. Are you referring to which columns show in the Project Panel? Do you get what you want by copying the entire preferences folder?

@FlyingFourFun,
I've used exiftool and such data for other purposes. Playing along with your questions....
Are you saying that PR reads your "Description" tag correctly and shows it in the Premiere Pro Project Metadata/Description field?
To test, I wanted to add a value in a PR field (e.g. description or tape name), and export/save in some way to look at how it is structure. Is there a way to export a value in PR to a file? I see linking (and the metadata section of the export settings), but I don't see how that would work.

With a clip selected in the timeline or Project Panel, use Ctrl+Shft+H, which is the default shortcut for File -> Get Media file Properties For -> Selection. You must have a selection and that panel (timeline or project panel) must be in focus.
From your other posts, I believe you are working in a version of PR before 25. If is before 24.6.1, you will be missing this shortcut, but can use the menu selection.

See my questions above:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/premiere-pro-transcribing-into-wrong-language/m-p/15191282#M554564
The greyed out re-transcribe is almost always viewing a source transcribe in the program monitor view. Right-click in the Project Panel.
If that is not it, a screen shot might help.

@AnnikaKoenig,
There are now several reports of this problem in 25.3.0.
I cannot replicate on Win11 25.3.0. The OP in this thread is Mac, but @morphinapg is Win11. His issue was always different from the direct manipulation and the reference monitor bugs that were fixed.
I agreed with your thought that a separate thread for the @morphinapg issue was best. But his posts had already been merged by then. This current thread is as good as any.
His excellent description is here:

@alice_9908,
Yes, makes perfect sense. My restatement: the import works fine - italics are there. A "caption track style" is applied. A caption track applies to all captions in the track, and it OVERRIDES/removes all faux text styles: italics and bold. I have not tested this in recent versions, but I don't think any change has been made to that behavior.
As a workaround, I'd be tempted to apply the style by selecting all captions, and just making the changes you need from the style. This should result in leaving the italics etc alone.
Post back and let us know.

Main support page:

Click the chat button lower right. In the top bar of the chat box, "More contact options." That should give a box with "Call us," and a phone number with days/times. You want to ask for the "Video queue."
I don't know if the US holiday will affect any of the options.
Let us know.

@Television Photog,
I'm not seeing this on Win 11 PR 25.3.
I'd first just try closing all Projects, restart PR, create a new project and see if that will create a new sequence successfully.
Ultimately, if no joy, I'd open with the shift key, clear cache, reset preferences, reset plugins (or don't load one time).
See resetting preferences for cautions:

@schnudiesounds,
I have recently upgraded to Win 11. I am not having any issues transcribing in release 25.3, latest Beta, or really any recent versions. I'm having no crash issues for anything.
I thought I just updated my Nvidia driver, but no: RTX 3070 on driver 566.36.
The screen you had that was different from Alexander's: he was in Preferences, you were in the create transcript dialogue. For most things, it won't matter.

@landonmaloney,
I have given a similar version of your correct answer regarding how to change a caption track from one format to another. But I regularly forget an important qualifier. My conclusion is that, for 608 especially, the best practice is to go back to the Create Captions step and use the correct format. I am looking at this in PR 25.3.0, but I don't think this changed from earlier versions.
@default39bxy9yce472,
Carefully review the 608 captions after the conversion. If you used the default Subtitle format from the Create Captions dialogue, it sets the maximum characters per line to 42. And if you modify it to the maximum allowed for the Subtitle format, that is 72. But the maximum for 608 captions is 32, and that is the setting when you use the 608 default for caption creation.
What happens when you use the Track Settings to convert format is that it truncates subtitle format to fit the 608 rules. For example, a Subtitle format caption at 42 per line with double lines may be:
The first question is
what is the best meal you have ever eaten?
When converted, all you see is:
The first question is what is th
In some cases, it will use a second line, but in most cases, even where it had 2 lines in the beginning, it just cuts it all out.
In the Text panel/captions tab (and the Properties panel), you see the whole caption text, not just what appears on screen. But when exported as .scc, it contains ONLY what shows on the screen. Because this is the criteria for 608, you cannot edit the 608 captions in PR to change that. And even if you could, if sometimes takes up to 3 separate captions to get the text from a single Subtitle format caption. You have to go back to the Create Captions step and use the correct format.
If you have already edited your captions, spelling etc, keep your old track for reference. Since PR 25.2.0, with the introduction of caption translation, having multiple caption tracks enabled at once is allowed. Create the 608 track, then select all the captions in the old/edited track, and move them to the middle of the screen. You can then step through and compare. Or, my preference, export each as .txt (from the captions tab, 3 dot menu), and compare in something like Notepad++.

@moni_so,
Yes, definitely odd. I set up my workspace as you did, added a 3-clip "source" sequence to the source monitor, and selected in the source monitor transcript. I can insert from the transcript tab with the icons, the period or comma key, or by right-clicking and picking insert or overwrite. If I click in the source monitor, I can also insert or overwrite, and I get no delays and no disappearing transcript. It is an 11 minute (short) source, so length could matter.
Yes, I would look at a Mac only issue.

Thanks for the excellent response. I'll look at this later today.
> I use method two: load my fully transcribed interview sequence into the source monitor,
You say "sequence." The ordinary method would be loading the transcribed media clip in the source monitor. But it should also work with a sequence, with the sequence "transcript" being the source clip transcripts as edited in that "source" sequence.
So just confirm; it is a sequence or single clip?

I just tested on PR 25.3.0 on Win 11 and it is working for me. I used an srt export from PR; it is UTF-8 with BOM. I tested italics, bold, and font color.
What version of PR are you using? Windows or Mac?
Can you provide the srt file for me to look at?

@Jason28638709tmq2,
I see no option to specify a bin for voiceovers. There have been requests to add that feature, but I don't see one currently.
I tested in PR 25.3.0. A voiceover file is saved to the root bin. It does not matter what bin is currently open, what bin the sequence may be in, etc.
I think the workaround for your situation is to put your media files in their own bin. Double-click that bin to open it in its own tab in the panel group. That opened bin will stay active even as your voiceover is saved to the root bin (in its own tab). The root will continue to position where the voiceover file is added, but since it is not active, it doesn't interfere with your position in your media files.
The actual position of the voiceovers in the root bin is determined by sort order, and you can control that to some extent by the voiceover naming. Right-click the audio track you're recording to, pick Voice-Over Record Settings, and change the name. But you have many media files and you want the position to stay where you have it.

@Ahmet26047475ozev,
Upvoted. I tested this in PR 2024.0.0, PR 25.3.0, and PR Beta 25.4.0.71. I used the transform effect for PR 25 and Beta, and the Gaussian Blue for 24 and the retest in 25.
These custom presets are saved in "Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset". On Windows, it is path
"C:\Users\[User Name\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\Profile-[UserName]"
When you reopen PR, it loads the presets from this file. And that file was not updating the name change, so when it reloads it is the old names. Except.... sometimes it was changing the names.
The name can be changed by:
1 - double-clicking in the name part of the Effects Panel, which allows you to edit the name in that field;
2 - double-clicking the icon to the left of the custom name in the Effects Panel, which allows you to edit the name in the full preset dialogue; or
3 - right-click the preset and pick Preset Properties and edit as in #3.
At first, I thought I had a workaround by changing the name in the Preset Properties. But all that is happening is that I can't tell when it is going to save that presets file. And I did not want to take the time to exit from PR every time to test it. And this will be easier for staff to sort since they can look at what is supposed to trigger a save.
I did one last retest of PR 25 using Gaussian blur. I added the effect, changed the blur amount, and saved a preset. Then I used method 1, double-clicking in the name part of the Effects Panel and editing the name in to add "Rename." When I opened the file, the name was the original name.
