Every time I ask for help from Adfobe to fix an issue in Lightroom Classic or Photoshop they have me uninstall LR and PS then reinstall it which removes all my preferences. It takes ages to replace them all. I would like to see a better solution. That is why I suggest that Adobe look into creating a repair function rather than ripping out the app. A repair should not wipe out all my settings.

Microsoft has this for many of their products. I had to call Adobe for help because there is no option to repair an installation in Lightroom Classic. Uninstalling and reinstalling just put it back the same way - with missing functions.

Because of having to manually rename a file then convert it to tif I do not use the new Adobe Denoise. I use 3rd party denoise apps. Much faster and less cumbersome in my worflow. Get with it Adobe. I want control of naming and what file type it ends up as.

Sounds like you have not tried my work around. Opening file in PS 2023 from LR before trying tooot open in it in PS 2024 beta. I posted the recipe numerous times. It works 100% of the time. To set it up so that both PS versions work in Adobe Lightroom. In preferences select as your second open as navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\ and select Photoshop.EXE. To edit a file right click and select edit in then click Photoshop.exe then click Edit a copy with LR adjustments. Close PS and it will save the file to Lightroom (my settings are set to save as a tiff file). You must close PS 2023. Go to edit in again and click Photoshop 2024 (first choice for open in is the beta version) then chose Edit original. You can now use beta 2025 to edit in. Do your work and close. Go back to Lightroom and if you see a window saying that it could not open the file go to File Explorer and find the tiff file that you just saved and move it to a new location or rename it. If you do not Photoshop beta will overwrite it and remove your edits. If necessary, you can right click and synchronize the folders to get your file back in Lightroom and continue editing in Lightroom beta which now recognizes that file and will open it. Opening as layers does not work. Selecting more than one wile to open works.

A temporary fix for Photoshop beta v 25 for Windows. Opening as layers does not work. Selecting more than one wile to open works. We volunteer to let Adobe know what does and does not work on thousands of different computers. Our reports aid the engineers in fixing issues. Only those willing to risk things not working as expected should participate. People who rely on LR & PS for work should not risk beta testing.

A beta version is only lightly tested. We are volunteers who let Adobe know what does and does not work on thousands of different computers. Our reports prompt the engineers to work on fixing issues. Some problems take longer than others to solve. Think of all the coding involved. I used to beta test Windows and that was far riskier than this. Only those willing to risk things not working as expected should participate. Professionals who rely on LR PS should not risk beta testing.

Similar to my fix. I point the second open into the old PS EXE. I open the pic in that then save (as Tif) then Open PS beta 2024. If I get a notice, I move the tif file in Windows explorer so PS beta will not overwrite it. See my post.

I sometimes see the warning. If I manage to open an image in beta PS and come back to LR Lightroom then says it can't open it and changes my edited file in either version of PS to an unedited one. That is Messed Up! I lose my edits unless I do a save as in PS before closing PS beta or PS regular and going back to Lightroom then synchronize to get it into LR.

Same issue. I can open an image in old Photoshop (second app), but the default PS beta will not open an image from Lightroom classic. No prompt to open original or one with LR edits.

I delete "Enhanced-NR" out of the DNG file name then take it into Photoshop to further edit. My workflow set to save it as a TIF after edits in Photoshop. I have LR set to add -sf to the end of the file name to show it is edited by me. Then I delete the DNG file. That is the best I can do with it for now.

I used to have an app that did find and replace in file names. Seems what you sent it works in Bridge but not Lightroom. There is no Headline field in Lightroom's metadata. I can't get that to work in Lightroom. Thanks for trying to help find a solution.

Thanks. As I explained above, that will not work well on TIF or DNG images with random numbers at the end of the file name.

Nice try 😉 Preserve filename renames it to the cameras default name. I rename my files after they are imported and sorted. To rename my way (see below) works on one at a time or a few DNG files or TIF files in sequence. I sort my images by file type in separate folders. Not all the RAW files get converted to TIF or DGN. Takes about the same amount of time to rest the number while applying the template as it does to delete "Enhanced-NR" in the metadata for the file name.

For example, renaming 20 files with random numbers in the file name to remove "Enhanced-NR" out of the file name can't be done as a batch series. I need to keep the original file names - extensions can vary. Going into each file's metadata to remove "Enhanced-NR" takes a long time. Having Lightroom decide to rename my files into names not of my choice is more than a little irritating.

I hope Adobe reads this and updates Denoise AI to save the rendered file as the original file name (extension will be DGN), or a name of choice, or path of choice.

My workflow for Adobe Denoise.
Edit RAW image in Lightroom
Use Denoise AI which saves and changes my file name – adds Enhanced-NR
Open the DGN in Photoshop and do more edits
Close DGN and it saves my default LR file type as a layered TIF.
Delete the DGN and rename the tif.
Step 6 is a pain. I haven’t figured out a fast way to get rid of the extra words “Enhanced-NR” in the file name.
And if I use Lightroom to export the DGN as a TIF it flattens the layers created in Photoshop - not good.

In the old version when making a new profile in ACR it was possible to inport a cube file - color lookup table (cube file or LUT). How do I do that in the new version 13? The menu is completely different.

The recommendeed scale is 150%. I turned it down to 125% for a test. The ACR window fits but the fonts are tiny and only readable with a magnifying glass at that size. 100% is way too small on this laptop. Thanks for the tip. ACR is the only app that won't scale to fit the desktop at 150.
