I upgraded to new Lightroom few days ago and it asked to upgrade the catalog. Most of the photos are still there, but some folders are empty. I still see folders in LR, but they have no photos.   I clicked on "synchronize" and it see over 2000 photos, but sync does nothing, it says no photo to import and folder is still zero. How can I access my photos? What is wrong with them?   I have big catalog with about 500 000 photos (many many years), folders by year "2024, 2023, etc" then folders by date (like 2024.10.15) if that matters. ... View more

hello, I have a strange issue with the Print Module in Lightoom Classic - I select some photos in Library - I click on Print module when the layout style is first one (single photo) I see photos in main view, I can change number of rows or columns, etc   but when I change layout style to second or third option: - the main screen shows only blank paper - the page number is not refreshed (so for example it still shows page 1 / 13) - changing template on the left does nothing - it's not possible to drag photo from filmstrip into main view   I tried refreshing view, changing photos, restarting Lightroom and resetting LR preferences   any tips what is wrong?   LR 13.3.1, Windows 10 ... I want to use generative expand feature to expand background on my photos, so I can have better aspect ratio. I shoot DSLR photos with 3/2 aspect and I would like to have 5/4 aspect. Generative expand is great for that.   However, I can't use it when my photo contains model in lingerie. I got error about violation of guidelines.   I found workaround, I need to remove model from the photo (make selection and erase), then it works.   My question is, is there any way to make it work without this error? Why expand validates interior of my photo if it's not used for expansion because it's not on edges? I understand that AI in PS should not be used to generate nudes, but why scenario I described above is the problem?   ... View more

I am trying to use Lightroom (instead Lightroom Classic) and I am very confused how this cloud service works.   First I tried to use Creative Cloud app for Windows 10 to upload files into the cloud. I entered "files" then "your files" and there is "no documents in the cloud" (I use Polish version, not sure about translations). So I tried to use plus icon to send some RAWs. But the result is that file type is not supported.   Then I found in the menu that there is sync folder C:\Users\Jacek\Creative Cloud Files, so I just copied my RAWs there. Then I clicked on the cloud icon and saw that files are syncing. 3.6GB is synced. But I can't see them anywhere! Not on my phone Lightroom and not on PC Lightroom.   So instead I used Lightroom, I clicked "add photos" and imported my 3.6GB files. Now files are visible both in Lightroom PC and on my phone Lightroom. Still Creative Cloud app says no documents. But, there is another problem. Now cloud uses 7.1GB storage, so files are uploaded twice.   I tried to remove my files from C:\Users\Jacek\Creative Cloud Files, hoping they will be "unsynced" but nothing changed, still 7.1GB is used. The problem is that I don't where where these files are in the cloud. How to display them to remove them. I can only see files I uploaded into Lightroom.   So how this cloud service really works? When I process my photos in Photoshop often I extend edges so instead 2:3 photo I have 4:5 photo, so I could upload it correctly into Instagram.   So the NEF file in Lightroom is in 2:3. I can click "Edit in Photoshop" and edit it without changing aspect, save it as tiff, so in the Lightroom it appears as 2:3. But then, I can come back to Photoshop and fix the aspect by extending the edges - changing dimension of the photo. After that Lightroom often is confused. It shows photo with incorrect aspect and when I click develop it shows old 2:3 version.   Is there a way to "update" the photo after it is changed in PS? The only solution I found is to manually remove it from Lightroom then sync my directory again (importing again), which is really time consuming. ... View more

Some time ago I posted my issues with "Export with previous", you recommended to reset preferences. I tried to do it from menu (twice) but Lightroom were always freezing at that step, so I removed them manually. I know they were removed because Lightroom welcomed me and proposed tutorial tips on start.   However the issue still happens, so maybe I will describe my process:   1) I browse multiple folders with photos in Lightroom and I put some photos in the target collection 2) I go to my target collection, I edit photo in Photoshop, after that I save the photo and it appears in my collection, so I have NEF then tiff next to each other in my target collection 3) then I go to my NEF (in target collection) and I click "set color label" to purple, to mark photo as processed, so I won't put it in the queue again 4) then I go to my tiff (in target collection) and I click export, I set directory as todays date and it saves jpg in my directory 5) then I go to develop and click "Black & White" to generate BW version of the processed photo 6) then I click "Export with previous" - at this point not my tiff is exported, but my NEF! 7) then I click "Export" - and then my tiff is correctly exported   Please analyse my workflow, what may cause problem in point 6?   ... After I finish processing my photo in PS I always go to Lightroom and then export JPG, then I change to BW and export JPG again, sometimes I also change crop and export again. I always use "Export with previous" for that. And it was working for years. Now it doesn't work correctly anymore. For some reason "Export with previous" export different photo - not the one I have opened in Develop module. I tried deselecting everything then select again, but still Lightroom export same photo as on first time. I tried exporting with "Export...", it works. Then I tried "Export with previous" and again it exported the same photo as in the beginning (not the last one!). Was behaviour of this function changed in last Lightroom versions or is there a bug? ... View more
