The Saturation slider acts like the intelligent Vibrance slider when dragged to the right (+), but dragged to the left (-), it behaves like negative Saturation. By @Rikk Flohr: Photography Are you saying that the Saturation Slider in the Making Panels acts differently than Saturation in the General Panel? In the General Panel (supposedly), Saturation affects all colors, while Vibrant protects Skin Tones and areas not requiring boosting. And (apparently) Saturation in the Masking panel is now intelligent??? Perhaps my info is out of date: https://patkay.com/blogs/pk/the-difference-between-vibrance-and-saturation-in-lightroom?srsltid=AfmBOop50N4oOgmlD6EXqE7xiR7YRmQj-6_faNN6yatCfuItFFsIAoU6

after buying new microsoft surface pro 11 By @guido_2967 I take it that your CPU is a Snapdragon, not Intel?? I do not know for a fact if Adobe has gotten around to supporting Snapdragon yet. In the past, they had not, and members are having huge issues. Perhaps other, more knowledgeable members, perhaps with Snapdragon, can reply. and see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/p-native-support-for-wos-copilot-arm-devices/idc-p/15383128/page/7#M24443

I have 'solved' it by looking at another thread which said to only upload photo files (no video) via a different folder not directly from SD card and this seems to have worked. I don't think LRC liked having photo and video files mixed. By @esme_8207 What exact version of LrC do you have? The video file issue that you stumbled on was a problem in an earlier (not long ago) version for some.

It might be helpful if you minimized the presets panel and maximized the History panel. (that is not at all shown) Also, why is the treatment panel not shown??

A few things of notice. First up, the default Adobe Color profile. O(n several cameras, the standard profiles have presented problems like this. Sometimes a lot worse than what you are showing. Often a bit or more than a bit magenta. What happens if you use a Camera Matching Profile? Second, the use of Auto WB, and As Shot WB. Adobe has improved Auto, but perhaps if the Standard Adobe profile is off, then perhaps Auto WB might be off. Third, still in WB, the use of As Shot. Fairly sure that is the default. Also, fairly sure, on multiple cameras, it has issues. (P.S. I assume you do not have an in-camera WB issue going on? ) Not saying Adobe does not have a problem, And in fact, if you change the profile to a camera matching one, and that works, then Adobe has a problem.

You apparently used a camera or phone to record that video. It is useless, it is hard to focus on. Try using the MACOS application to record a video capture instead.

LrC, please add a Not Sky mask in the mask options when creating a landscape mask. Yes, I could simply create a Duplicate and Reverse mask, BUT.
The purpose of such a mask is to be able to edit tonality, etc., for everything not in the sky. For example, Curve, Clarity, saturation, dehaze, items you may not want to apply to a sky.

When you create a landscape mask, you are prompted to select what subtype (Sky, Vegetation, Ground, etc). If you select multiple ones, the masks are automatically named as such (Sky, Vegetation, etc). BUT when you select just one, it is not automatically named as such, and you need to manually rename it (if desired)
Request that this naming occur in both situations.

LrC, request Vibrance slider be added Effects sub-panel in the Masking edit panel. Also consider moving the Saturation slider to this panel from the Color panel, so as to match the general edits (not masking) panel.

For LrC, request that the option to hold down the Alt/Option key on sliders when in a mask as to show clipping (Whires, Blacks, etc.) be added as is already in the general tone panel.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post. Also large amounts of text in a post also render the Translate function inoperable. note: IMO your laptop sounds like more than capable for LrC

While user should have enough knowledge to do this by their self's, I agree that the defaults should not be into such a folder (any that will automatically be associated with OneDrive) Also i recognise that not all users are Info Tech savvy, and rely on defaults. So yes Adobe should attempt to prevent such failure. By the way, I blame this more on Microsoft than Adobe. And I understand users of MS Windows have little knowledge about the pro's and con's of accepting Microsoft default account creations (ad in a MS account instead of a local account) Note that the association of the catalog on the folder the catalog is inmight not actually result in the catalog being completely located on OneDrive, but instead being automatically syncd to oneDrive (a problem that can lead to corruption ) Also, Adobe needs to document the pro/con of LrC vs OneDrive.

Graphics processor information:
DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU (31.0.15.4633)
Early stage: GPU for image processing supported by default
User preference: GPU for export enabled
Enable HDR in Library: ON This may not be your performance issue, but that GPU driver is out of date. Current would be v576.52 released 19 May 2025. Your v546.33 was released back in 12 December 2023. Actually, in LrC terms, that is ancient. When you go to update, select the Studio Driver, and choose Custom Install as to force a clean install.

Library Path: C:\Users\ajroy\OneDrive\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom Catalog-2-2-DESKTOP-94CC2MV-v13-3.lrcat Actually, while you do have a copy of the catalog on OneDrive, and that library path indicates that. I do not think you are actually working from the copy on OneDrive, but from a copy on your C drive in your Users Folder. The presence of the word OneDrive in that library path indicates (I think) that the contents of that folder (in effect c:\Users\ajroy\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom Catalog-2-2-DESKTOP-94CC2MV-v13-3.lrcat) are being automatically synced to OneDrive. Both actually working from a catalog on OneDrive, and working from a catalog on your hard drive but auto-synced to OneDrive are bad. LrC does not support working off the cloud, or a NAS, or any network share. As for an automatic sync to OneDrive, that is highly problematic. If you automatically sync a LrC catalog to OneDrive, then every single edit you accomplish, every single mod, results in a communication across the Internet to your OneDrive. This gets very very busy. If you are having a bad Internet day, things can go downhill, in theory (I cannot prove), a catalog corruption can occur. At the very least LrC can slow down. I would advise that you eventually create a folder on one of your hard drives, likely a root folder, with a name you like that is not associated with OneDrive, System folders and user system libraries (such as Users, Documents, Desktop, Music, Pictures, Videos). A name like MyPhotos, Lightroom, Rumpelstiltskin, GrumpOldFart (anything but Music, Pictures, Videos, and NOT under Users) and move your catalog to that location. You could always backup to OneDrive, just try not to do that while trying to edit in LrC. P.S. backing LrC catalogs and/or photos to OneDrive may or may not be efficient depending on how large a space you have at Microsoft.

This is shown in: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/tethered-camera-support.html note: in the above link, under Canon cameras supported, the 5D is not listed logically along with the EOS 5D Mark II, Mark III, and Mark IV, but further down the list for some reason only Adobe can state.

I have to build 4000 previews, this is insanly slow, I need to wait almost an hour to get them build. Actually, in my experience, just a few hundred can take an hour or two. That is why, when on a photo trip, say for example to a National Park, I copy my day's photos to my laptop first, then start my import (via ADD option) with minimal preview creation and go out to dinner, when I return, they will be ready for editing. Typically, this a 200 to 300 images. So 4000? Yep that can hurt. If you are not using the Add method, consider using that as to spread your import process into separate steps that hopefully can be managed better. Overall time for the complete workflow may not be less, but more tolerable. This is an import workflow used by some Landscape Photographers. One advantage is to get photos copied (copy, not move) from the memory card to a hard drive ASAP. Then, using the Add instead of Copy option, and likely with minimal preview creation, minimal presets, the catalog can be populated, then the previews created later, perhaps as a batch, or more likely as you cull thru the images.

In the System Info you posted, the Library path is cut out. This might be important. Especially as you are using Windows and might have run into Microsoft's blasted OneDrive nuisance. (MACOS users will not have this issue, ever) This bit: Application folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic Library Path: W:\Active Projects\Photography\test\test.lrcat (if the words OneDrive are included in this, then that is bad) Settings Folder: C:\Users\DavidsLocal\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom
