Is there a way to make dashed lines not have rounded caps on all the dashes? The cap icons are currently grayed out when making a line dashed. I have a 2px stroke and don't want them rounded.

Hello @HARSHIKA_VERMA , I do have a shortcut on the desktop. All of my other Adobe shortcuts have the right icons, however Adobe XD doesn't because it gets automatically installed in the WindowsApp folder instead of where the other apps get installed. I don't have permissions to access that folder even though it's my own computer, and none of the methods I've found to give myself permissions work. This is causing the icon to appear broken/missing. Apparently, it's a very common problem for Windows 10 users, there are several threads on here with that very issue. Therefore, I just an Adobe XD shortcut icon (the graphic itself) so that I can change the path of the shortcut icon to one that's in a folder that my PC can access.

After installing V54.1.12 the desktop shortcut icon on Windows 10 has disappeared/is broken. I understand the software gets installed in WindowsApps, but I don't have permissions to open that folder even though it's my own personal PC. I tried every method on google to give myself permission to open it but it's impossible, so let's move past that. I understand I can drag and drop a shortcut from the start menu, I did that, but what I want is the actual shortcut icon and I can't access it. Is there somewhere externally I can download the latest shortcut icon so I could drop it in an accessible folder somewhere, right-click the shortcut, and change the icon to the path I set? I just need the .png or whatever it is. Thanks!

If I use Lato for example and the client doesn't have it installed on their computer, do they still see Lato font or do they see something else? Is text selectable either way, or does it get outlined to shapes?

@Mohit Goyal Hopefully this image helps. New guides used to be cyan and you didn't need to deselect them, so your keystrokes still effected the objects on the layer. Now, they come in medium blue and "active", and if you don't manually deselect them, your keystrokes effect the guide instead of the objects on the layer until you do deselect the guide. It's an unnecessary extra step. If anything, can you guys at least add a toggle to choose if you don't want them to be active? I don't see any benefit of them being "active", when before you could still edit them by just hovering over them.

@Mohit Goyal I can confirm the issue is still there after updating to this latest version. With guides, if you don't lock them they're always editable, so there's no reason for them to be individually "active" when you first drag them onto your canvas. In version 23.3.1 and below, you used to be able to drag a guide and then do your next thing. You'd be able to move them around anytime you wanted just by hovering over them if you wanted to move them. But now, there's an extra step, you have to manually deselect new guides by clicking a tool. It doesn't make any sense to have the extra step when before you didn't need to do that and you were still able to move them at will just by hovering over them. This was a completely unnecessary change. Please ask the team to revert that back to how it was on v23.3.1.

Thanks, but it's not that. That's how it used to be, that it was in the selected state, but the default was a Canvas guide. Now, it's defaulting as an Artboard guide even though no artboards were created. When you select the move tool and click somewhere it then converts it to a Canvas guide, which seems like a bug. That behavior just started with the latest update.

I'm having a similar problem. When starting a new document with no artboards, any canvas guide I create via dragging from the ruler is originally an artboard (blue) guide until I switch to the move tool and click somewhere, then it'll turn into a canvas guide (cyan). I absolutely HATE this extra step. So much so I reverted back to the previous version until the guides are returned to normal.

Hello, when previewing fonts on https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts, it shows there's over 230 pages of available fonts. But I can never view any past page 200. It gives a "You've stumped us!" error, even if I manually try entering the page number. Example: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts?browse_mode=default&max_styles=26&min_styles=1&page=232 Is this normal, or a problem with my account? Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for the reply. That's a really weird user experience choice to have it default to the foreground color. If anyone knows maybe a plugin to change this behavior, it would be appareciated. I created a request athe uservoice as well.

Is there a way to set it to where when you make a new layer, the new layer color is not the current color on your fill/stroke in the toolbar? So if my current stroke color is red, and I create a new layer, the last thing I want is for the new layer's color to be red because when I create shapes, the nodes and lines are all the same color as my stroke, so i have to manually go in and change the layer color to something like green so I can actually see them. Hope that makes sense? It's an extra step I find annoying. I realize I can choose a different color, then create a new layer, then go back to the color I had, but again, that's an extra step. Just wondering if this can be set to be either random or some automatic opposite color.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping to give them the InDesign files in a way that they wouldn't have to do anything, when they opened it, it would automatically link to the images on the paths they gave me. It really should just let you do that even if it removes the previews.

I need to link images that are currently embedded in an InDesign file to the client's sharepoint folder that my PC doesn't have access to so that when the client opens it on their end the images link correctly. I have the paths to those folders, they're something like \Users\foo\. When I click an image on the Links panel and go to Relink and enter that path, it says 'Path does not exist.' Is there a way to do this? I don't want to send the images embedded because it increases the file size too much, and I don't want them to have to relink them on their end. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm using InDesign v 15.0.3x64 (latest version as of June 2020.) on Windows 10 with Chrome set as the default web browser. I create a link by highlighting text and putting the link on the URL field in the Hyperlinks panel. When I click the green dot the url opens in chrome fine with no problems. Then I go to File, Export, Adobe PDF (Interactive). But when I click a link in the created PDF, Acrobat DC (v20) hangs gets stuck, turns white, stops responding and crashes. Is there a fix?

I'm using InDesign CC v15.0.1x64, Windows 10. When I create a new style and give it a paragraph rule (let's say Rule Below, 1pt, Black, Offset 0.125in), then when I go back to edit the style, the paragraph rule can't be edited. It shows as if there is no paragraph rule applied, yet it's right there. The Rule On checkbox becomes mysteriously unchecked but the rule is showing. If you click the checkbox on, it creates a new rule style over the existing one that can't be edited or deleted. I've tried creating new styles, creating new documents, restarting, rebooting, and nothing is solving the issue that I can't edit a Paragraph Rule after I create a style for it.

I need to create an animated gif that animates, reverses, then restarts as a loop. I have a set of pngs in a folder on my desktop that make up the animation. I went to Layer > Video Layers > New Video Layer From File. I selected the first png and that loaded all of them as one video layer on the timeline. If you scrub the playhead you can see it animate forward. I haven't found anything that works online to duplicate this video layer, move it to the end of the first one, and reverse the duplicate. There's no frames here, it's one single video layer now. Is it possible? I'm using Photoshop 21.0.1. Thanks for any help.

Is there a way to make the field bird's eye view? Also, is there a way to make the field perfect isometric view? Or does every view have to have a convergence point? Thanks. EDIT: So to give more details, basically I'm working on a stationary letterhead business card mockup. I have two scenes, one in bird's eye and one in isometric view. I dropped in their logo into Dimension hoping to line it up nicely with the background image of each scene but it's not quite right. The logo would look like a physical plastic sculpture object next to the stationary objects. For the bird's eye view version the logo won't lay flat. It's forced into a bit of a perspective lean. Same for the isometic scene, the logo sort of pinches into a slight perspective rather then the exact slant degrees on the top and bottom of the logo. I was hoping to use Dimension because I like the shadow casting it creates with the custom light source effecting the entire scene. So getting perfect top view renders and the exact same top and bottom slant isn't possible on Dimension, correct?

Thanks Ged, that keeps the transform controls but it loses the snap. I know I don't need the transform controls and the guide snaps to the center automatically without them, but I just liked the visual confirmation that it was indeed snapping to the center of the object.

Just updated to 20.0.4 and have an issue with the Transform Tool. I used to click an object and press Ctrl+T to get handles on the object, then go to my side rulers and drag a guide which would then snap to the center Transform control. Now, if I try to do that, when I click on the side ruler to grab the guide the object loses it's transform controls. Is there a way to bring this functionality back to where they'll stay? I see the "Show Transform Controls" lock on the top but I don't want to have that extra step of checking and unchecking that every time, I never had to before. Thanks for any help.

OK I figured something out... If my Notes panel is in a group (in my case I have it as a tab grouped with the Swatches panel and the Properties panel, it won't remove the focus. If I take it out of the group and float it by itself it does remove the focus when I click another tool the way it's supposed to work. I think it's bugged if it's in a panel group. I'll just float it then for now.

Can you test and confirm that when you create a new note, when you click a different tool the blue focus goes away? It's just not working for me. The only way I'm able to remove the focus of the notes panel text field is to first click on any field on the Character panel first, then if I click on any other tool the focus gets removed from the Character panel as expected. I just can't do it directly from the Notes and I really dislike having to do that extra step. I'm on Photoshop CC v20.0.4. I don't know if the latest update caused this since I wasn't a regular Notes user, just had to start using it daily recently. Thanks for any help.
