Is there another purpose of getting points other than a status symbol? Adobe Captivate lets you gain points to get rewards with their program. I didn't know if it was the same with the rest of Adobe.

Points here do not come with benefits
Points only show how many people have selected your answer as correct (and/or, I think, helpful)

Quite interesting question. Points are attributed when users find your post helpful or correct or when someone likes what you say. For the rest, points are pointless at least after reaching a certain level.

Hi dolphinlover,
Everything that John and Abambo said, plus if someone with 1 point answers your question and someone with 30,000 points gives you a different answer, which advice are you more likely to follow in a user-to-user forum?
(I love dolphins, too!)

The quality of the answers is probably the same for someone with 5,000 - 10,000 - 50,000 or 300,000 points. But 1 and 500 may be a big difference.
