While talking to another user about his planned 2021 build, I made a list of my own
I do not do RAID drives, so I only specified SSD drives for this build

530 10 Core 3.7GHz https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-i9-10900k-core-i9-10th-gen/p/N82E16819118122
213 https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232939
MB has 4 Ram slots, so could go to 128 Gig... especially if only use Intel UHD Graphics 630
Intel UHD Graphics 630 uses "up to" 64Gig of system memory for video
Intel UHD Graphics 630 is limited to no more than half of installed ram

120 Motherboard https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813119303
     https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-H470-PLUS/
     4 x DIMM, Max. 128GB, DDR4 2933/2800/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
There are higher $$ motherboards with Z490 controller, this is my choice
Intel H470 controller has more PCIe lanes and USB 3.2 compared to B460 controller
     1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (supports x16 mode) use this for RTX2060
     1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (supports x4 mode)
     4 x PCIe 3.0 x1 slots
     M.2 slot (Key E)
     --> M.2_1 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (supports PCIe 3.0 x4 mode)
-use this for super fast M.2 boot/program drive at x4 speed

     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UeWMgjwogU
     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8V5VVDW2-Y
     M.2_2 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280 (supports SATA & PCIe 3.0 x2 mode)*
     * When a device in SATA mode is installed on the M.2_2 socket, SATA6G_2 port cannot be used

Win10 and all programs (plus the Documents folder for Microsoft Office)
A Z490 motherboard is required to use two M.2 drives at the full x4 speed
55 500G work https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-blue-500gb/p/N82E16820250087
Temporary 'cache' and output files (MP4 for computer playback or ISO for DVD)
90 1T Input/backup https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-blue-1tb/p/N82E16820250088
Input from camera and all backup files (Documents folder on boot drive)
103 Full Tower Case https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811147053?Item=N82E16811147053
If you need a Thunderbolt port (I don't) this is not the case for you
My limited understanding is that Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C case port
Comes with 4 fans for cooling and the option for a 5th (bottom) fan
120 Power 850watt https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-mwe-gold-850-v2-mpe-8501-afaag-us-850w/p/N82E16817171180

A power supply should not be run at capacity, so I decided on 850 watt 'Gold"

ADDED - if you need Thunderbolt
According to the picture at Newegg the motherboard comes with 2 Sata cables
The motherboard has a Thunderbolt connector, but does not include a cable
-I will GUESS that a different case might include a Thunderbolt to USB-C cable
-Since I don't need Thunderbolt, and I want a case with a side fan to blow air
--directly onto the motherboard, you will need to find your own different case

The first 4 items I've ordered arrive today, the rest will dribble in until "about" the middle of the month, so by the end of this month I should have my new computer built and running... my usual program to clone my boot drive won't work to go from my current 256Gig to the 500Gig M.2 I will have in the new computer, so I bought https://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-pro.html to write a clone to an external USB, and will clone that drive to the M.2 - if that works, I won't have to reinstall everything... although I expect I will have to let Win10 to a 'repair' when it detects a new motherboard - if that doesn't work, I just do a fresh Win10 install and then install all of my programs... time consuming, so I'll see how well the cloning works

I don't know why (I will guess that plants closing due to Covid) but the
computer component market is really a mess... by the time I was ready to
order, I sometimes had to switch either suppliers or what I bought - the
final price, not including shipping and taxes, was $1,889

The H470 motherboard was out of stock, so I moved up to a Z490 motherboard
but that change did allow me to buy faster ram to go with an M.2 boot drive

To disable onboard video (if it does not auto-disable when use a card)
Go to your device manager (see below for finding device manager)
Click the drop down menu next to “Display Adapters”
Right click on your Intel UHD graphics.
Click device properties.
And click “Disable Device”

To get the ASUS motherboard to boot from the M.2 drive I had to go into BIOS and change...
Change CSM from disabled to enabled
Change Boot from Storage from Legacy to UEFI
Change Boot from PCI-E from Legacy to UEFI

I am now working on getting everything off my old computer that has my ID, and will go back to video editing when that is done... until then, some information I found before I bought the components to build

My new M.2 is 6+ times as fast as SSD 3450/550=6.27

A speed ranking site shows 1st for i9-10900k vs 136th for i7-4930k

-none of the Intel 'extreme' CPU models were shown

3 CPU benchmark sites 17325vs6569=2.64 2677vs1064=2.52 11344vs4953=2.29 Avg=2.48 times faster

-the different scores 'seem' to be related to exactly what was being done during testing

Finally have old computer cleaned and ready to go away, so was able to go back to my video project
.
NOTE that this is all 'subjective' since I don't have a stopwatch, and I didn't think to search for a computer timer until afterwards
.
When I share to a DVD ISO it now takes 'less than' 1/4 the time it took on my old computer... so I am very happy with my new build
.
This new computer is even quieter than my old computer (and it wasn't very loud) since the case fans are 'large and slow spinning' to cool without making a lot of noise
.
If you don't already have a system monitor, go to https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html to be able to see what your hardware is doing

Congratulations on your new build!

You did settle for a GeForce GTX 1650 because the RTX GPUs are either out of stock or priced way higher than you wanted to spend. Which type of RAM does that GTX 1650 have? GDDR5 or GDDR6?

If GDDR6, then this will reduce the need to upgrade to an RTX GPU in the near future because the GDDR5 version would not have been a worthwhile enough improvement over previous-gen GPUs to justify the newer technology.

I had to check... link says 4Gig of GDRR6
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-128-Bit-Graphics-G165D6AIC1/dp/B08GL81369/

I do know that my test of download some 4k files did not have any delays or artifacts during playback

I see. That GDDR6 version of the GTX 1650 will tide you over until you can really afford a potential newer RTX than the 3000 series, unlike the original GDDR5 version that might have made you wanting more.

>GDDR6 version of the GTX 1650 will tide you over

Actually, I doubt that I will ever buy a newer/bigger/faster video card... since I have NO intention of ever buying a 4k camera (my 4k test was only a test)

The video I edit is 1280x720 video (and pictures) from a Canon SX510 camera, to be able to make a DVD, and my new build is very much faster than the i7-4930K CPU in my old computer... taking (eyeball observation, not with a stopwatch) about 1/4 the time to process the same projects

I built my previous computer July 2014 and it was still running, I just wanted to build a new computer with more speed... I succeeded

In your case, then keep using the 1650 until Nvidia puts it into "legacy" support status. Which might not happen for a few years. After all, if you're only doing 720p, then why waste money?

That said, I am increasing my intake of 4k myself, even 4k60.
