Many of the issues I found troubling in 14.0 have been resolved in 14.1. Here is a new one. When any feathering "effect" is applied to an image, the image disappears. Also, document level display performance setting are being ignored, so despite the fact that my document setting is "high quality display," I have to go through the document and apply that setting to each image. I hope that these issues can be resolved quickly.

I have just installed Indesign 2019 and the control panel is organized in a very unfamiliar way. I think I remember that in earlier versions that you could move things around to suit individual habits. Having tried to do so (without success), I am wondering if that option has been removed.

The latest version of InDesign (2019, AKA 14.0) has serious flaws and should probably be withdrawn. I see any number of reported problems in the forum that indicate a lot of time being wasted on workarounds and issues that render it unusable. The problems are known and have been acknowledged by tech-support staff. Anyone trying to solve the numerous problems should just go back to your last working version and wait until Adobe posts an upgrade. Adobe?

This is a known issue at Adobe. I spoke with tech support about this yesterday. Suggested solution was wait a couple of weeks and try it again. Frankly, I think they should take down the "upgrade" until this is fixed.

Thanks Paul! Have not thought in terms of ditching prefs since about OS 8. New wrinkle: This is only happening in a single, complex document. No issues with horizontal scrolling at all.
