I have since downloaded Notepad++. It also came defaulted with the same type of issue, but the fix was easy: I was able to click Settings, Preferences, Highlighting and then unclicked the two enable boxes for the Smart Highlighting and Highlight Matching Tags, and it works great. Sorry. I was using Dreamweaver CS5 and then got a new computer. With the new computer came Dreamweaver Cloud. I’m used to editing my own tags manually and can’t seem to do it. Here’s a screen shot. The dark blue highlighted tags are un-editable. I want to remove the highlighting and want to be able to manually edit these tags. (Thanks!)
