Go back to library->open application support-> rename the Illustrator 23 Settings folder to Illustrator 23 Settings folder.old When I go to my Application Support/Adobe folder, I only have Adobe Illustrator 23 folder, not 23 Settings folder...?

Thanks Larry! You are the only one on the internet that I found that gave this direction! Found them in folders marked Adobe Illustrator 19 Settings, 21 Settings, 22 Settings. Inside I dumped the Adobe Illustrator Prefs and Cloud Prefs files. But I'm still getting the error... EDITED: Just uninstalled, removed prefs through uninstall pop-up and now AI is opening. Whew...

ah, thanks. But it still didn't do anything. Still getting the unexpectedly quit error.... Could there be any issue that I can't even find a Prefs folder to delete, since I can't do it inside Illustrator?

I am on a Mac and just updated to High Sierra 10.13.5. Illustrator was working fine yesterday (can't remember if I updated before or after last using the program...). Now, upon launch, I get the "unexpectedly quits" error. CONtrol/Command/Shift command to reset preferences isn't working. And when I go and try to find the Illustrator Pref folder, there is nothing there, nothing on the search, nada. Any help is greatly appreciated as I really have a lot of work to get done!

yes! And now I get "unexpectedly quit" error upon launch. Pref folder is gone, as is my sanity.
