Thank you sir. I had come across that technique, but it's not so straight forward on more complex illustrations. Appreciate your help though and will post again if I find a solution. Best Regards Bryan

Thanks Roland. Iappreciate the offer, but to be honest I posted the question because this is something that happens to me quite regularly. I just thought it was strange that when you drag a preset to an object, that the name of that preset is not recorded somehow to be identifiable in the future.

Hi All Is there a way to identify presets that have been applied to objects in an existing project. For example If I open up an old project in which I used a particular text preset is there any way i can identify the one I used? I know you can browse presets in Bridge, but i'm working on an old imac but if you have a lot to look through it could take some time. Thanks in advance. bryan

Hi David. I have a follow up question. Is there some way to use the trim paths to animate illustrations that have been expanded. See below image. - Because the drawings are not just simple lines with a stroke width I cannot seem to use trim paths on them. I have a big library of drawings like this and it would take forever to trace them out with the pen tool.

Thanks David that's fantastic. Trim Paths are super, and I do find animating Start, End and Offset gets the best result. Thanks again, I'll have lots of fun with this! bryan

Hi All I've been looking for a tutorial or preset if one exists to animate 2d illustrations so that they seem to draw on to the screen. Something similar to the really beautiful ad for the Irish blasphemy referendum which was held last week (don't ask, we're all very embarrassed about it....and it passed by the way, blasphemy is no longer a criminal offence in Ireland ). Any help would be much appreciated. Best Regards Bryan

Hi All I'm producing Leaderboard and MPU animations on AE for use on the Google Display Network. (sample screenshot below) I've noticed that the resolution of the animations I'm producing is not sharp enough. - I set the compositions at the correct size - 728x90px for leaderboard ads, and 317x265 for MPU ads. The emoji icons and logo you see in the screenshot below are pngs exported from vector files in illustrator, and the rest of the copy is done directly in AE. - So I don't think it's a question of source media being low res, so is it how I am exporting? - I export as the default quicktime file. Does anyone produce these kind of ads, and can you advise of the composition and export settings you use to achieve higher res animations? ...sorry, in case it's not completely obvious I am new to After Effects. Any tips anyone has on exporting from AE in HTML format would be much appreciated also. Best Regards Bryan

Thanks Dave and DJ. I agree that in the previous screenshot the green background looks to be 1920x1080 and the artwork looks wrong, but the strange thing is that before I rotate the artwork it is correct. It is the act of rotating it that makes it no longer the correct ratio. Below is a screenshot of just before I rotated it. you can see it looks right. - Im interested in what dj said about the aspect ration being off on the precomp...not sure what that means but maybe that is the answer?...will have to look into it!

Thanks so much, That works perfectly. One strange thing I notice though, when I precompose and rotate as you describe, I then have to change the composition settings, so that the artboard fits the now rotated artwork before I export it, but even though I use exact same dimensions the rotated artwork no longer fits. So my original layout was 1920px high and 1080 wide. Once I have rotated the artwork I go to composition settings and make it 1080px high and 1920px wide. The artwork that fit perfectly when the artboard was upright no longer fits when its rotated 90 degrees. (see image below)

Hi All I'm producing advertisements for digital pods, but the company who manages the pods requires the final artwork to be rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise. - I can't figure out how to do this, and I can't get the image to rotate in quicktime player after I've exported it either. Can anyone help? (sorry it feels like a silly question, but I can't find an answer anywhere) - The only solution I have is to build the ads from scratch already rotated, which is proving awkward. I'd appreciate any advice you could offer. Bryan
